Happy Monday!
Things are looking a little back to normal here in blog land. I ended up having to purchase my template again and, while it’s not exactly the same, it’s close enough. I guess. There’s a few things I wish I could change because I liked them better on the old template, but I’m sure I’ll adjust.
Truth be told, I’m slowly (SLOOOOOOWLY) working on moving my blog to a new website with my own domain name. But the blog world is confusing and involves a lot of coding and it’s expensive to hire someone else to do it. So for now I work on it a little at a time until I feel frustrated enough to throw my computer at the wall, and then I take a break for a week or two until I feel ready to jump back into it. If my new blog was up against a snail or a sloth in a race, they’d lap me a few times and then leave me in their dust. That’s how slow this transfer is going!
Anyway, on to the good stuff!
I’ve been enjoying some one on one time with Emmy Roses while Lucy is at school and playing with these buttons is one of her favorites.
Halloween costumes are out, and it’s pointless for me to try and avoid them. Lucy thinks the costume department is her own personal shopping area for dress up clothes. She doesn’t want to be a butterfly for Halloween, but she wants me to buy it for her dress up bin! Silly girl, that’s what the day AFTER Halloween is for!
We were a little early for pick up the other day, so I let Emmy sit in the passenger seat while I read her some books. Think she enjoyed it??
My friend Amber discovered a new play place in Dearborn, and it is amazing! It’s called Kidcadia, and I’m so bummed it’s a 50 minute drive from our house! The girls had the best time, and Lucy even declared it the best day ever!
They have a snack bar as well, and Emmy devoured a chocolate muffin.
Since we were already in Dearborn and only 20 minutes from my parents, I decided to make an impromptu trip to visit. My car needed a wheel alignment and an oil change, so my dad was kind enough to take it in while I hung out at the house with the girls. That’s WAY better than having to sit at the dealership with the girls! Lucy and my mom enjoyed some Doc McStuffins while Emmy napped.
Aunt Carla sent the girls a few special surprises in honor of going back to school. Check out Ems eyeing that Elmo!
A girl and her fish. Love!
Emmy had school last Friday and spent about 30 minutes painting. The other kiddos spent about five. Emmy loved it and kept asking for more paper, and her sweet teacher didn’t mind at all.
Snack was Ritz crackers, a banana, and apple juice. She was excited to use little tongs to server herself the crackers.
She also enjoyed the outdoor time.
Lucy’s usually in school when I take Emmy to her class, but Lucy’s class randomly got cancelled last Friday. One of my mama friends from school offered to have Lucy over to her house to play while I took Emmy to school. This was the first time I’ve ever dropped Lucy off at someone’s house, other than her grandparents’, to stay. Lucy was obviously very nervous, and I was secretly very nervous, but we both did great! My friend Erin is the coolest and let Lucy feed their chickens, collect eggs, and pick her own raspberries for snack!
On Saturday morning we decided to put the girls in the stroller and make the two mile walk into town to check out the farmer’s market. There was a breast cancer fundraiser going on, and Lucy wanted nothing to do with this giant pink chair! We tried everything to get her to sit on it with us, but she was NOT having it.
After the market we stopped at the bakery to get donuts and then walked to the park.
It was hot and humid, and by the time the girls played for a while and then ran up and down this hill several times, they were definitely ready to get back in the stroller and relax for the walk home.
Matty was cutting the grass while I got the girls some lunch, and as soon as he finished it started pouring outside. He was hot and dirty so he stayed out in the rain, and the girls joined him.
Sunday was a beautiful day filled with Costco, Kroger, and yard work. Matty had his first go at aerating the lawn himself and enjoyed using a new lawn machine.
It’s a new week, and Emmy seems to be sleeping better, so I’m hoping that we’ll all be happier and well rested.
Have a great week!
XOXO
