Happy Monday!
Matty was gone on a guys’ golf trip this weekend, but the girlies and I still managed to have some fun.
Emily’s first day of parent/tot class was Friday morning, and she was up and ready to go at 6:30am!
I wasn’t happy about her early wake up call, but it was cute to see her send Matty off on his weekend golf trip.
This is the second year that Matty and his coworkers/friends have gone to the cottage for a weekend of golf, boating, and beer.
By 9am, Emmy was dressed and ready to go!
I’m fairly certain she confused “What do you want to be when you grow up?” with “What do you want to be for Halloween?”
Either way, “mean witch” is not happening . . . but it sure did make us laugh!
We had a few bad storms early last week so I went outside to bring in our flag. As I was unscrewing it, I accidentally went too far and the screw fell right down into our giant mum pot! I finally went out to look for it on Friday . . . turns out someone beat me to it!
We had more storms Friday afternoon, but ventured out to dinner with Grandma Rita on Friday night. The service was slooooow, but the girls really did well. In other news, am I the only one desperate for this terrible humidity to go away? My hair was not made for this weather!
I got the girls to bed on Friday night and enjoyed some quiet time to myself that involved watching some of MY shows and reading. My book was really good so I stayed up later than I should have, especially since Emmy was wide awake and screaming for me at 4:45am! It’s a good thing she’s cute!
Once Lucy woke up, I loaded the girls in the car and we hit the road to spend the day at my parents’ house.
We walked to a park in their neighborhood that had this cool swing. Let’s all take a minute to applaud my mom’s photography skills! ๐
Lucy chased butterflies for so long at the park and was so happy when she finally caught one!
My dad ordered pizza for everyone for dinner. He even ordered from two different places just so the girls could have a personal pizza from Pizza Hut.
And while I was dealing with way too early wake up calls, Matty was enjoying a much deserved (and much envied!) weekend away. Golfing by day . . .
. . . and chugging beer from the cottage teapot at night. That’s my man!
I peeked in on Lucy before I went to bed Saturday night, and this is how I found her!
The girls and I did Costco and Kroger on Sunday, and Matty was home by the time we were finished. It seems as though Emmy is currently transitioning out of naps (boo!), so we had some family rest time after lunch.
And today we’re back to business as usual. This week is Matty’s last golf week, which both of us feel differently about! The girls’ colds seem to have subsided, which is great news! Even better news is that I’m hoping to try a new fitness class that my friend Nicole has started teaching. It has been years . . . YEARS since I’ve been to a gym. I know I’m going to love it; the only obstacle is how to convince the girls to love going to the daycare there while I go to class. Here’s hoping!
Have a great week!
XOXO
