Happy Monday!
It was a rainy weekend, but we still managed to squeeze in quite a bit of fun.
I have to throw in this picture from Thursday. The weather was beautiful so these sweet sisters took their fish and their ladybug stuffies for a walk to the playground.
It rained all Friday afternoon and evening and then overnight and into Saturday morning. We had big plans to go to our town’s Pumpkin Fest Parade, and we were happy to see that it was just a light drizzle by the time we needed to leave.
Emmy devoured a waffle before it was time to go. Also, I am obsessed with her new pajamas and want her to wear them every day!
After breakfast we headed to town and set up our spot.
And then tried to entertain these excited little ladies while we waited for the parade to start.
The parade is about a mile or so long, and the streets were lined the entire way. Not a bad turn considering the weather.
The girls were so excited to see Cinderella! Can you see Lucy’s little hand waving to her?
It did rain for a few minutes, but nothing we couldn’t handle.
Emmy was getting a little too deep into her candy, so I had to distract her with animal crackers.
Our neighbor was walking in the parade and gave the girls her pumpkin headband. Lucy kept referring to herself as an alien!
We were a little soggy but everyone did great, and we were ready to tackle everything Pumpkin Fest had to offer!
We stopped and watched the water dogs jump into the pool and then went to the Hotel for pizza. Then we spent some time jumping in bounce houses . . .
. . . posing in front of the giant pumpkin pyramid . . .
. . . and playing games!
The games are super cute and mostly geared toward little kids because everyone gets a prize. Because of this, our girls are now the proud owners of a Paw Patrol stuffy, a Toy Story stuffy, a whistle (why?!), vampire teeth, a bouncy ball, and bubbles!
By the time we got home later in the afternoon, we were all ready for some rest time!
We went outside for some play time during a break in the rain . . .
. . . and then Lucy put on a concert with her whistle and some make shift drums.
We wouldn’t let them eat any more candy, but the girls used it all evening long to play countless rounds of trick or treat in their playhouse.
Sadly, since we had already made plans to go to Pumpkin Fest, we didn’t get the chance to help Sadie celebrate her TENTH birthday! It seems like only yesterday that she was a tiny baby projectile vomiting all over me . . . and now she’s TEN!
She looks so grown up!
On Sunday we went to a gymnastics facility to celebrate a neighbor’s third birthday, and our girls turned into monkeys!
After an hour of gymnastics, they were ready for pizza and cupcakes!
I was so proud of how well the girls did at the party. They played great and then sat and ate with all the other kids while Matty and I got to hang with the grown ups. The tides are turning at the Kissel house!
These adorable cookies were in the girls’ treat bags.
They also got some markers and a wooden letter for their name to decorate, which I thought was a super cute favor idea!
The rest of Sunday was filled with football and food prep.
Such a good weekend!
Emily has her 2.5 year well visit tomorrow, and I’m gonna go ahead and say that I think she’s going to surprise me and make this her first check up that she doesn’t scream through start to finish. I feel like she’s come a long way the past six months and has definitely learned to handle uncomfortable situations better. That being said, both the girls and myself are getting our flu shots so I’m sure they’ll be tears at the end.
Have a great week!
XOXO
