Happy Thursday!
How is it August already??
I feel like I just flipped my calendar over to July!
We are super excited for the weekend ahead of us, but first, here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to lately.
We had some friends join us at the cottage last weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. There’s no “proof of mom” pic, though, because I was the only one snapping away!
The Crupis have two girls who are six and three.
All four little girls played SO WELL together. On Saturday morning the four adults sat out on the deck relaxing, talking, reading for almost an hour! At one point I walked by the girls’ room and saw this! That’s Emmy Roses under there, and she told me they were playing ghost. Ha!
Then a little while later they excitedly called us all in to see the giant fort they’d made!
The Crupis brought their dog, Sunny, who is LITERALLY the best dog in the world. And I’m not joking. She puts every other dog to shame, and Lucy and Emmy were obsessed with her.
Lucy was also obsessed with these sunnies that Genevieve brought.
The perfect boat dog!
Is there anything messier than a fudgsicle on a hot day??
Emmy earned herself a midday bath!
Lucy was sad to say goodbye to Sunny.
We had to take a detour on the way home and drove by some pretty spectacular farm land.
We’ve had some cooler mornings this week, so I put the girls in the stroller with some dry cereal for breakfast and I walked. It was awesome!
Emmy is doing great on tricycle, but every now and then she needs a little push from Lucy.
Tuesday was my dad’s birthday, so on Monday we made him a cake. I made the girls their own little cakes to frost so that I could frost the actual cake myself. A genius idea, if I do say so myself!
Matty was out of town for work again on Monday night, so the girls and I went to Panera for dinner.
Emmy was living her best life as we drove down to my parents’ on Tuesday morning.
The girls swam . . .
. . . they ate cake . . .
. . . and then passed out early because nobody napped on the way home!
Emmy’s favorite station at gymnastics this week was the headstand. And how cute is her new leotard?!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again . . . Nordstrom and Von Maur have the BEST changing areas/family restrooms/feeding rooms. After Emmy’s gymnastics class is over, we still have an hour and a half or so before Lucy is done so yesterday we hit up the mall to check out Von Maur and play at the play place. I changed Emmy’s diaper and she was SO happy to wash her hands at the little Emmy-sized sink.
And then she had the play place all to herself. That’s the beauty of going to indoor play areas when it’s a gorgeous day outside!
Later in the afternoon Lucy and I were in the kitchen and we heard the loudest, craziest noise out back. We ran out on the deck, and these sand cranes were strolling through our backyard! So crazy!
Tomorrow morning we leave for one of our favorite weekends of summer: Cedar Point weekend!! The novelty of the Kindles has been wearing off lately, so I picked up some things at Walmart to give the girls in the car. How cute are those doggie pencil pouches?! The girls are going to love them!
This is Emmy’s first year going to Cedar Point, and she is SO EXCITED to get a Snoopy stuffy just like Lucy got her first year!
Will Emmy actually ride any rides?
Will she sleep well in the hotel?
Will I ride any rollercoasters?
Will Matty get his annual corn dog?
Check back Monday to find out!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
