Happy Monday!
We are at home dreaming of being back on the beach, riding rides, and letting our kiddos be crazy!
We had another great year at Cedar Point. This is our third year in a row of tagging along with our brother-in-law and ALL of his large family. It’s a blast every year!
This was Emmy’s first year going with us. She’s pretty shy and timid, so we were a little nervous about what she’d think and how she’d feel about the rides. Turns out we worried about nothing because Ems had the time of her life!
I have a lot of pictures, many of which I’ll just let speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy reading about our trip as much as we enjoyed living it!
We woke the girls up at 6:45am on Friday to get on the road early, and Lucy was PUMPED!
Loaded up and ready for the 2.5 hour drive!
While I was checking in, Lucy met Lucy!!
We checked in, dropped off our luggage, and hit the park!
Brian and I rode the Wind Seeker together immediately upon entering the park. It was nowhere near as scary as I thought it’d be. I have a picture of it coming up later.
The girls had been talking for WEEKS about what was on their Cedar Point “to do” list. Lucy was excited for face painting, and Emmy couldn’t wait to get a Pink Snoopy stuffy just like Lucy got on her first trip. I’m happy to report that we checked both of those off our list right away!
She chose a BLUE Snoopy!!
The kiddos were excited to see Charlie Brown!
Most of them, anyway!
And then Lucy and Riley did karaoke to “Let it Go” and my heart melted into a giant puddle on the ground! I was so proud of Lucy for singing and Emmy for staying up there happily!
Giant marshmallows covered in chocolate and sprinkles?? It must be vacation!
Eventually we went back to the hotel for lunch and to check into our room. Not a bad view out our window!
The girls napped HARD on Friday afternoon!
After naps it was back to the park for more rides!
We rode the Woodstock Express at Camp Snoopy, and it was so much fun! Lucy was excited to ride her first real rollercoaster. Brian sent me the actual pictures that the rollercoaster took, but I forgot to download them before I started this post, so you get the picture of the screen that I took instead.
Around 7pm we went back to the hotel and had pizza by the pool. We decided to throw bedtime to the wind and let the kiddos swim after dinner. On our way up to change, Snoopy was having story time and it was so cute!
The kiddos are getting a little older now, all had on puddle jumpers, and did a great job entertaining themselves at the kiddie pool while the adults sat and watched. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip!
Checking out the night time view from our room before their very late bedtime.
I took this from our room so it’s not the greatest, but see that tall pole with the lights at the top? Those lights each have a swing on the end and that’s the ride that Brian and I rode! It gave an amazing view of the entire amusement park and the beach area!
These girls were up bright and early at 7:30 on Saturday!
We got ready and went to the amusement park, but after riding a few rides we realized it was HOT and decided to head to the water park instead. Emmy was hot, tired, and a little leery of some of the attractions at the water park, but she hung in there until about 12:30.
We went back to the hotel and had some lunch and then put the girls down for naps. They were up early that morning, had a busy time swimming at the water park, and were SO FUSSY that we were convinced they’d pass out.
NOPE!
After over an hour of Emily singing nonstop in her pack n play and Lucy constantly whispering, “Is it time to ride the rides yet?” we gave up. Since it was so hot, we suited back up and went to the beach. It was just the four of us, and we had a blast! Unfortunately, I have no pictures to prove it because we left our phones in the hotel room so they wouldn’t be unattended on the beach.
After the beach we cleaned up for a crazy dinner at Famous Dave’s with all 30 of us in attendance and then had a ton of fun at Kiddie Kingdom.
Oh, and we also rode the cable cars! The girls loved it.
What’s the best way to get four tired kiddos to leave an amusement park??
Bribe them with ice cream and a dance party on the beach on the way back to the hotel!
Feel free to email me anytime if you need my awesome parenting advice.
We were closing in on 9pm by this point, and it was painfully clear that the cousins were not going to pose nicely for a picture!
This guy didn’t mind jumping in for a pic, though! Hope he doesn’t mind going on our family calendar for next year!
I should not have waited until so late in the day to attempt a family pic on the beach. Lesson learned!
These kids were out of their minds tired but just couldn’t stop. It’s like they thought they were in water instead of sand!
We got them back to the room, showered them off, and they passed right out!
Lucy went with Matty on his morning coffee run and got her picture in the giant chair.
Matty had the girls in the lobby while I was upstairs supervising the loading up of our luggage. I called him to say I had accidentally gotten locked out of our room, but he was like “I gotta go, I need to take pictures!” and then hung up on me. I’ve never been more proud to call him my husband! And now we have this super cute picture!
Emmy is nursing a serious Cedar Point hangover. I put her down for a nap as soon as we got home yesterday, and she did NOT want to wake up.
The same can be said for Matty!
This is what I saw on the monitor while I was downstairs unpacking!
We had such a fun weekend making memories with our girls. They’re already talking about wanting to stay three nights next year, and I think that’s a great idea!
XOXO
