Happy Monday!!
But, more importantly, Happy Prime Day! May the shopping odds be ever in your favor!
This is actually more of a recap of our last week or so since I had the Fourth of July post last Thursday. We have been busy lately, and our calendar shows that we aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Super fun, but kind of tiring too. Where’d those lazy days of summer go??
The girls started gymnastics last Wednesday and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed their matching outfits!
The gymnastics facility isn’t air conditioned (why?!) so I was a tad bit sweaty after doing the parent/tot class with Emmy. Lucy is enrolled in a three hour gymnastics preschool that includes circle time, story time, small group activities, and a snack (in addition to the gymnastics). She enjoyed it, but wasn’t too crazy about being away from mommy . . . which is exactly why I signed her up. She’s got to get back into the swing of being without me before school starts up again in the fall.
Emmy understands the basic idea of Hide and Seek, but still needs work on the finer points of the game!
If you are ever near a Trader Joe’s, you must try this pancake bread! It was delicious and a huge hit with the girls.
It was 87 degrees at 5pm on Wednesday, and we had the pool to ourselves!
Lucy and I had hair cuts on Thursday afternoon. I still go back to my stylist in Canton, which is a 30 minute drive now. My parents offered to meet up to do some shopping, lunch, and then take Emmy to the library while we got our hair done. You know those cute little Ty brand stuffies that are always near the check out at Joann’s, Michael’s, and Hobby Lobby? Yep, Papa couldn’t resist!
I don’t know why cutting off a few inches makes Lucy’s hair so dark! She was so excited to have her hair curled like mommy!
We joined my parents and Emmy at the library for some puzzle and puppet time.
And then this happened on our long drive home!
It was 90 degrees outside, so I sat in the garage with the car running for about ten minutes before deciding I should probably turn off the car and wake them up. Lucy didn’t handle it well, poor thing!
She rallied, though, and enjoyed some time on her new (to her) strider bike after dinner.
One of Matty’s coworkers had brought home a Tesla X, and Matty was pumped to take it for a drive. The girls hopped in to check it out and said they were in a spaceship! They also had just finished some suckers and had been riding their scooters, so the all white interior made me a little nervous!
Friday morning was a mercifully cool morning: overcast and 68! We packed a lunch and met friends at the park . . . and I took zero pictures! The sun came out later in the day, though, which made it the perfect night for me to get some mama time with my friend Marie at the Plymouth Art Fair. And the only picture I have to show for it is of the delicious mojitos we got with our dinners!
Emmy was up bright and early on Saturday morning and entertained herself so nicely with Play Doh.
After breakfast on Saturday, Matty drove the girls down to my parents’ house because we had tickets to go see Carly Rae Jepsen with our friends! I wasn’t too sure what to expect, especially since I haven’t been to a concert in like 15 years, but we had SO MUCH FUN!! Oh, and that morning we found a good deal on hotel rooms so we ended up staying the night which was super convenient!
When random guys on the street offer you a can of Miller Lite because they bought too much for their bike tour, you don’t say no. Unless you’re a girl, and then you say no thank you because you ought not accept drinks from random guys on the street. #themoreyouknow
There weren’t any seats on the main floor at the concert venue, but we found a great spot standing right in front of the bar. Our view was awesome, and we weren’t too crowded.
The Heinbuchs are our people. We’ve gone on countless trips, weekends away, and adventures with them. When I decided to surprise Matty with these tickets for our anniversary, I knew I didn’t want to go just the two of us. The Heinbuchs didn’t even hesitate to buy tickets too, even though they aren’t as familiar with the music. They did not regret their decision!
I mean, is there anything more fun than a confetti drop during the last song??
After we got home on Sunday morning, Matty repacked his bag for a work trip to Mexico and I dropped him off at the airport on my way to spend the night at my parent’s house with the girls. We did lots of swimming in the afternoon, and then hung out and fished with Aunt Carla after dinner.
A plane flew overheard, and Emmy waved and yelled, “Hi Daddy!” #meltmyheart
So then we started doing it for every plane!
This is my 11 year old nephew wearing the towel of a 5 year old. 🙂
Right as I was putting Lucy to bed at my parents’ house Matty sent a message to say his plane had landed . . .
. . . so Lucy sent him a picture back. These girls miss their daddy so much when he travels!
And that’s all she wrote!
We have two goals this week:
1. Stay busy to make the time go faster until Matty comes home.
2. Stay cool. The temperatures are soaring!
Have a great week!
XOXO
