Happy Monday!
We had zero plans this weekend, and it was GLORIOUS. We’ve been pretty busy lately, so we really enjoyed not having to be anywhere at any certain time for two whole days!
Saturday morning I slept later than usual, worked out, and then showered while the girls were awake. Then Sunday morning I watched an episode of The O.C. in bed while everyone else was still snoozing. I don’t even know who I am anymore! ๐
I’m actually going to share pictures starting from last Wednesday.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the cuteness!
Last Wednesday was Lucy’s actual birthday, so we went to the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum with some friends. I think the girls were more excited about the tiny sink in the bathroom than anything else!
They practiced brushing teeth . . .
. . . surrounded themselves with a giant bubble . . .
Spent a good amount of time stomping things on this mat . . .
. . . enjoyed about 20 minutes in the nearly empty preschool room . . .
. . . played in the water room . . .
. . . and were fascinated by the fun house mirrors.
We stayed for about 2.5 hours, and the girls had a blast, but Emmy was definitely ready to go!
We got home and had a late lunch. While Emmy napped, the birthday girl wanted to play outside and was delighted to find this little guy in our front lawn. She named him Turtley, and I quickly transferred him to the woods.
Lucy wanted vanilla ice cream in a cone with sprinkles for her birthday treat, so that’s what she and Emmy had!
It was a little too windy outside, so we went into the garage to light the candle and sing.
We went for a picnic lunch and play time at the park after school on Thursday.
And Lucy showed me that she learned to do this. The only problem is that she couldn’t get down!
Don’t let these next three pictures from Friday fool you. It was a TOUGH day. The girls were whiny, fussy, and naughty!
We had a slow morning on Saturday. Lucy spent some time coloring the mermaid mural my parents got her for her birthday.
We took a long walk which was nice. The girls are betting a bit better about staying in the stroller longer.
Lucy got some super cool sun catcher crafts for her birthday and had a lot of fun making them during rest time on Saturday.
After nap time we went to get our flowers for outside, and the girls loved walking up and down the rows sniffing them.
My hair has not been my friend for the past few months. I had some of my mama friends over on Friday night, and they all agreed that I should try washing it every other day instead of every day. This is definitely out of my cleanliness comfort zone, but they said that if I hang on for two weeks it’ll get easier. Of course, yesterday was a warm, humid, rainy day so I had crazy day two hair to deal with. I did this quickly on a whim, and it worked out well!
Matty golfed on Sunday morning so the girls and I went for a walk, stopped at the playground, and went to Kroger. When we got back, Lucy finally got to fly the kite she got for her birthday and she had so much fun!
The girls never ride in Matty’s car, and Lucy has been asking for awhile, so before dinner yesterday he put Lucy’s carseat in to take her to the beer store. #daddydaughterbonding
He forgot to take a picture of Lucy, but he did get this gem of Emmy who also wanted to go for a cruise with daddy!
And that was our weekend!
This upcoming week should be a good one: Matty only works three days, Lucy has her end of the year picnic on Thursday, and we’re heading to the cottage for Memorial Day!
In other news, I started blogging three days a week at the beginning of this year but I think I’m going to cut back to two days a week again. I never get a chance to work on my blogs during the day, and now that the weather is nicer and we’re outside later I often don’t start before 9:30 or 10:00pm. It’s getting too tiring for me! If I have something extra I’ll still post on a Wednesday probably, but for now you can expect my posts to be on Monday and Thursday mornings.
Have a great week!
XOXO
