We survived Matty being in Mexico for the week.
Ugh!
Hot on the heels of our very challenging weekend, Matty left at 6am Monday and will be returning late afternoon TODAY!!!
And no one will be happier to see him than me! #guaranteed
We actually stayed quite busy throughout the week. I wouldn’t say that it went by quickly, but it didn’t crawl by at a snail’s pace either.
The girls woke up Monday morning, and we sent Matty a picture to let him know we’d be ok.
He sent us this one from the plane, and the girls loved it!
We met some friends at Funtastic on Monday morning.
We always go in to check on Lucy before we go to bed at night. (We’d love to check on Emmy too, but she is the world’s lightest sleeper. Often times just us quietly opening her door will make her roll over and sit up! Lucy, on the other hand, can sleep through anything!) I couldn’t get enough of those chubby cheeks, so I had to snap a picture.
Emmy was looking so sweet in her cute new sweatshirt and her two braids, “Just like Lulu!”
We got to preschool pick up a little early on Tuesday, so Emmy checked out the book selection in the book orders. She also showed off her two Kroger stickers!
Tuesday afternoon was a beautiful sunny day. We went for a walk and sent Matty another picture update.
This is a Melissa and Doug puzzle that was a hand me down from my niece, Sadie. It’s kind of challenging, and I was so proud of Lucy when she got this much done all by herself!
After nap we played with the neighbors for awhile. This girl LOVED the swing.
Emmy woke up several times throughout the night on Tuesday and then woke up for good earlier than usual on Wednesday morning. She dozed on me on and off all while taking sips of her milk. It was pretty darn cute!
And speaking of cute, Emmy has been wearing her dress up dresses everywhere!
We rang in the first day of Spring with chilly, wet weather but that didn’t stop us from getting our free ice cream cones!
It was a little too chilly to sit outside, so the girls got to sit in the back of Papa’s car to eat their ice cream . . . which proved to be the highlight of their day!
Emmy clearly needs some lessons on how to eat an ice cream cone!
The fanciest scooter outfit ever!
Lucy will be getting her own scooter for her birthday in May. Until then, we’ll have to deal with her constantly stealing Emmy’s!
I made dinner on Wednesday with my dad as my sous chef.
The girls made their own “Christmas Dinner!”
Every once in awhile some of the mamas from Lucy’s preschool class will get together while the kiddos are in school. Emmy had a great time dressing up as Anna and playing with some different toys.
We are sloooowly working on redoing Lucy’s room. Her bedding for her new big girl bed arrived yesterday . . . too bad we haven’t ordered the bed yet!
For about ten minutes the girls were sitting this close to one another reading books and watching a movie . . . in perfect harmony. A rare occurrence these days!
Because Emmy is such a light sleeper, pictures like this are very rare! All the fresh air and outdoor play we’ve had this week must be catching up with her, because she did not want to wake up from her nap yesterday!
We have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us which will be made nicer by the fact that the weather is supposed to be pretty great. Oh, and in between our other commitments we’re supposed to paint Lucy’s room! Will it actually happen?? I can honestly see it going either way!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
