Happy Monday!
Did everyone survive the day with only 23 hours yesterday? We were super busy, and the day actually felt never-ending to me which was surprising. Here’s hoping the girls adjust their sleeping schedules all on their own and transition smoothly!
I’m playing catch up today with all the pictures I didn’t post last week.
Oma came for a visit last Monday, and she and Lucy snuggled up to watch The Grinch while Emmy napped.
Oma left halfway through the movie, and then Emmy woke up early. #ofcourse
I still had about 15 minutes of dinner prep left, so I sent Lucy upstairs to play with Emmy . . . with strict instructions to NOT take away her paci or throw any of her stuffies out of the crib. I was pleasantly surprised with how their sister time went!
Grandma Ri came over to get squished on Tuesday.
Lucy woke up early Wednesday morning, and I spent about 15 minutes burying her in stuffies and then having her push them all off.
Emmy, on the other hand, slept super late on Wednesday because she was up for three hours in the middle of the night. Why couldn’t she be sleeping this soundly between the hours of 2:00am and 5:00am??
Sister, Sister!
We ran to Home Goods one day last week, and this is how we went through the store. I don’t even bother with strollers anymore because no one stays in them for very long. Sure, I can forcibly strap Emmy in, but I can’t stop her from screaming and throwing a tantrum to get out! For the most part the girls do a great job staying by me, and we haven’t broken anything or knocked over any displays . . . yet! Stores like Home Goods make me so nervous, though!
Side note: Check out that super cute unicorn box that I bought! Emmy Roses is having a unicorn themed birthday party (if she tells you she’s having an Incredibles party, DON’T believe her), and I’m going to put one of her presents in that box and then use it for toy storage. I love that Emmy is still young enough that I can buy stuff for birthdays, Christmas, Easter, etc while she’s with me and she can’t put two and two together. My days are numbered though!
This is how I get Lucy’s hair done and teeth brushed in the morning. I feel like I need one of those emergency call buttons for the day I inevitably trip and fall in the bathroom over either a child or a stray toy.
There’s nothing better than a happy girl after a nap!
Lucy brought home this grocery list she made at school, and Matty and I thought it was hilarious! Looks like our girl is going to survive college no problem!!
We had a play date at a friend’s house in Plymouth on Friday morning, so afterward I decided to take the girls out to lunch at a restaurant downtown Plymouth that I really miss! No one wanted to sit in a highchair, which was fine, except that I couldn’t convince Lucy to sit across from me . . . so I was a tiny bit cramped! Despite the look on Lucy’s face, we had a fun time!
It was 37 degrees and sunny so we took a walk through the park after lunch!
Love these two cuties so much!
We had a thirty minute drive home, and the sun was still shining, so I pushed nap time off for half an hour and we got out the bikes and the push car. It was sooo nice to be outside!
Emmy woke up unusually early on Saturday morning and had herself a leisurely wake up on my lap.
She eventually perked up and had fun wearing Lucy’s robe around before breakfast.
I took the girls to get Lucy’s hair cut bright and early, then we picked up Matty and headed to Costco.
I forgot to take an “after” pic of Lucy at the salon, so this will have to do. She got about 3″ taken off. After nap time we packed up and headed downriver for a friend’s birthday party. Lucy was so sweet as she helped Emmy play a coloring game on the Kindle.
We dropped off the girls, ran a few errands, and then headed to dinner with friends. After dinner we went to a pinball bar where we played games and enjoyed some post dinner drinks and popcorn.
We picked the girls up after lunch yesterday and headed home to do the usual grocery, meal prep, get ourselves ready for the week routine.
The girls are getting their pictures taken professionally today. I usually love the results but I get so nervous beforehand now because Emmy’s behavior is such an unknown. Will she smile? Will she start crying immediately? Will she even let me set her down?
One good shot, that’s all I’m asking for!!! . . . and I’ve got a bag filled with mini marshmallows to help me make it happen! #briberyislife
I mean, as long as we get better than this . . .
. . . . or this . . . I’ll call it a success!
If you need me tonight or tomorrow night, you’re out of luck. It’s the two night finale of The Bachelor and, for once, they did not exaggerate when they said it was going to be the most dramatic season ever. I’m on the edge of my seat over here, and I think Matty’s right there with me . . . despite what he might say otherwise! ๐
XOXO
