Happy Monday!
We are coming off of a busy, yet productive, weekend and are ready to tackle the week!
I have a collection of fairly random pictures for today. I don’t have as many as usual and I blame the fact that I was too busy going to grocery stores all week and weekend.
Seriously!
Tuesday: Kroger
Thursday: Target
Friday: Kroger
Saturday: Trader Joe’s and Fresh Thyme
Sunday: Costco and Kroger
You know how I said that motherhood kicked my butt last week? Well apparently it also affected my ability to properly plan my grocery runs! Fresh Thyme was unplanned, though. We went out to dinner on Saturday, and the restaurant was next to a Fresh Thyme. We used to live within walking distance of one in Canton, and I MISS it, so we stopped in to pick up some favorites.
Needless to say, we are stocked up and ready to go for the week!
We did do other things besides grocery runs! We had a play date on Wednesday that had already been rescheduled twice due to our winter weather. Despite freezing rain and all the schools being cancelled, we were determined to make it this time! I watched a YouTube video on how to do a Dutch braid and gave it a whirl on Lucy’s hair before we left. Not too bad for my first time!
Emmy loved this unicorn towel that her friend Amelia had. I’ll be doing my best to find one for her birthday!
Lucy was partial to Amelia’s Skye dress up outfit.
Emmy got a hold of both of our oven mitts and couldn’t have been prouder.
I got to look at this silly face for most of our Target run on Thursday!
The girls got some Lil’ Woodzeez for Christmas, which are Target’s version of Calico Critters. This Lil’ Woodzeez cottage was on sale at Target, and I had a moment of weakness and bought it for the girls. I don’t regret it because they’ve played with it a ton already!
They colored so nicely while we made dinner . . . so I’m not going to complain about where they plopped themselves down!
Emmy is one happy little lady after nap . . . as long as she wakes up on her own. If she’s sleeping too late and I have to wake her up, I certainly pay for it for about 20 minutes. I was cuddling her up the other day, and Lucy took a sweet picture!
This picture cracks me up. The girls love to play “nap time” and get snuggled up and pretend to sleep. Emmy makes the funniest face when I tell her to close her eyes and go to sleep.
Matty got home unexpectedly early on Friday and snapped a pic of Lucy and I during our daily rest time cuddle session.
My mama friends came over Friday night for drinks, dinner, and girl talk. I don’t think we’ve all gotten together since October, so we definitely needed it!
This Instagram post kind of speaks for itself, right?
I love my girls so much, but I want a little “me time” so badly that I can feel it in my bones!
We checked out the Novi library Saturday morning where Emmy enjoyed reading books while rocking some super staticky hair!
It was very cold Saturday, but calm and sunny, so Matty took Lucy outside for a little bit. Fresh air is never a bad thing!
Lucy is really into Beauty and the Beast lately, and she loves wearing her own Belle dress while watching it!
It was a slow go at Kroger yesterday morning . . .
. . . the the cashier gave Emmy a ton of stickers so I’m calling it a win!
Sundays are meal prep days. I made a frittata for my breakfast, banana baked oatmeal muffins and maple breakfast sausage for the girls, and Matty made Kafta meatballs with tzatziki sauce for his lunches. Not pictured are the apple slices to dip in homemade cashew butter, the chopped up veggies for hummus, and the chicken breast with salads for my lunch. Phew! It took us about two hours total, but it will save us SO MUCH TIME throughout the week. Oh, and don’t worry, the stove got cleaned as soon as we were finished. Matty made a steak in the cast iron skillet for lunch, and it made a huge mess!
If you ever want 15 minutes of peace on the couch, put on a women’s college gymnastics competition and you’ll be good to go!
Last week was a little touch and go for me, and I’m really looking forward to a better time this week. We’ll be putting some last minute touches on valentines today, and I look forward to celebrating with my sweet girls on Thursday. Lucy doesn’t have school on Valentine’s Day, so I’m thinking of taking them out to lunch. We shall see!
See you Wednesday!
XOXO
