Happy Friday, friends!
Today we are getting out of the house, and I’m pretty excited about it! It’s been a COLD and icy here this week. Schools were cancelled, play dates were cancelled, it was too cold and icy to run errands, and the girls and I (but mostly me!) are going a bit stir crazy.
That ends today, though, because we are braving the frigid temperatures and heading out to see Sesame Street live with the grandmas! I took Lucy last year, and she loved it. This is Emmy’s first time going to something like this, and I think she’s going to enjoy it!
We haven’t been up to too much this week, but Lucy did get a little fancy for bedtime on Sunday night.
I got up to work out on Monday morning, and it was -8 degrees outside . . . and that was without the crazy windchill.
Aunt Carla got the girls some cute crafts, and we got one out after dinner on Monday. They did a really cute job, and I was impressed with how long they actually worked on them.
It was as cold as could be, but we were treated to a pretty morning sky on Tuesday.
The aftermath of only 15 minutes of quiet time in Lucy’s room!
Princess mamas at their cutest! And can I just say how much I miss wearing Emmy?? She lived in our baby carrier for her first six months of life, and I really enjoyed it!
We had an ice day on Wednesday. Our play date got cancelled, and I spent the day trying to fill another day at home with interesting activities. We started working on some Valentine’s Day projects, and then I let the girls have some free paint time. This was Em’s first time painting, and she did great!
After painting, I set up a little road with tunnels for the girls to drive their little princess cars on.
While Emmy napped, Lucy played around in the basement and I worked out. She found our old swing and turned it into a carseat for Nemo.
She asked me approximately 347 times if I was almost finished, but actually did a pretty good job of entertaining herself!
We had been cooped up in the house for far too long, so after dinner we decided to run to the grocery in town to get a bar of dark chocolate for a little treat. We walked around for awhile and got home a little past when we would normally start our bedtime routine, and these little ladies were DONE! They both wanted Matty to carry them up to the tub, and he got the sweetest snuggles!
Two little ladies and one giant bear were watching a movie yesterday morning.
After the movie, it was time to give one another baths!
Schools were closed again yesterday but the roads were totally fine by mid morning, so we headed to Kroger. Can you tell the girls were excited to be out of the house??
I heard the cutest little “Look, mama! Look, mama!” coming from the pantry, and Emmy was so proud that she transferred all of the “cookie bars” from the bin to the duck bag. I love this stage of playing!
We have a pretty low key weekend, but we do have big plans to take Lucy ice skating for the first time on Sunday! Matt has NEVER been ice skating, so technically I’ll be taking Lulu AND Matty ice skating for the first time! Wish us luck!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
