Happy Tuesday!
If this post ends abruptly, it’s because I fell asleep while typing it!
The girls have been such amazing sleepers for so long that when they randomly have a bad night, my body just can’t handle it! Both girls came down with really bad colds as the day progressed on Sunday. They both had a lot of trouble falling asleep Sunday night, and then I was up with each of them twice throughout the night, for a grand total of getting up and rocking girls four different times. It was like having a newborn again . . . and it definitely solidified the fact that I do not want a newborn again!
My only saving grace was that Matty had yesterday off. We were supposed to do something fun with the girls. Staying home dealing with constant runny noses, coughs, fussiness, and fevers is generally NOT our idea of fun . . . but at least Matty was here to help!
The rest of our time since I posted last has been pretty good, though, so let’s get into that!
I bought the girls these matching night gowns a few weeks ago, and they are so cute in them!
Running errands in style. And she’s wearing sunglasses because it was SUNNY a few times last week.
Waiting to pick up Lulu from school. See that sheer curtain behind us? I was talking to another mama just before dismissal a few weeks ago, and Emmy walked over and pulled it down! It was on a tension rod really high up so I had no way of replacing it properly, so I just tried to put it back up as high as I could. #oops
It was still cold, but we got out and soaked up some Vitamin D while we had the chance!
Lucy was reading our Elf on the Shelf book to the Christmas tree, and it was so cute!
Lucy’s class is doing a gift exchange at school. She picked a classmate’s name out of a hat and had to choose a $5 gift. Her sweet friend, Isabella, will be getting this cute Minnie Mouse stuffy at their Christmas party. Lucy REALLY wanted one for herself, so it was a good lesson on giving to others and not to ourselves. If I’m being honest, it was a hard one for me to teach her because I’m guilty of pulling the old “one for you, one for me” when shopping for my sister-in-laws!
Their night gowns came with matching ones for their dollies!! I tucked them away and used them as a little gift from Raspberry the Elf one morning. They loved them!
Lucy will tell any Santa who will listen that she wants a Snuggie Tail and a Fancy Nancy dress!
A picture perfect example of sisterly love!
I was sitting in Lucy’s chair reading my book, and I heard Em say “Look! Picture!”
We had a bunch of friends and their kiddos over on Saturday evening. Matty and Ems had to rest up for the party!
Seven adorable little girls! There’s actually eight in this group, but baby Eliana stayed at home with her grandma.
Funny, this is exactly how I make out my grocery list too!
Sunday afternoon we went to downtown Plymouth for lunch and to check out the Christmas trees. The girls were already starting to not feel well, though, so it wasn’t as fun as it could have been.
By nap time on Sunday, Ems wasn’t comfortable unless she was upright on me. Here we are at nap on Sunday.
I didn’t take any photos of us snuggling in the middle of the night, but here’s how I unpacked groceries on Monday . . .
. . . and here was nap time yesterday. Look at that poor, feverish baby. She was in rough shape the rest of the day and evening.
As I type this on Monday night, both girls are miraculously sleeping, but who knows how long that’ll last. In the mean time, this is me:
Hope you’re having a good week!
XOXO
