Happy Monday, friends!
It’s a short week and no one is more excited about Matty being home for two extra days than I am!
We had quite the weekend at the Kissel house . . . sleepless nights, impromptu doctor visit, decorating, and bringing home a pony. Not your average weekend, for sure!
Ems was having trouble napping on Thursday afternoon, so I got some extra snuggles.
We got more snow on Thursday, so while Ems napped Lucy and I went outside to play. I can already tell that she’s going to want to be outside as soon as the snowflakes start falling all winter long. #emphasisonlong
Thursday was Grandma Rita’s birthday, and we celebrated with stuffed cabbage casserole and a cake.
We had a slow morning on Friday, and the only thing on our agenda was a trip to Target. I decided to let Lucy pick out both girls’ outfits and do her own hair . . . and this is what we ended up with!
Friday night we set up our Christmas tree, and the girls loooooved it! We didn’t decorate it, but they still loved to sit and look at the lights.
Carla got Emmy this kitty pillow for her first birthday, and I’m finally comfortable with putting it in her crib while she sleeps. Ems is in heaven and snuggles up with it all night long. I wish my bedhead was as cute as Emmy’s!
Friday night was a tough one for Lucy. She’s had this weird cough for over a week now, and Friday night it turned into this weird barking sound, was pretty much non stop for several hours, and she threw up in her sleep she was coughing so hard. I ended up sleeping with her in the guest bed, and by “sleeping” I mean laying there listening to her cough.
I called the doctor when they opened on Saturday and they had an opening in an hour so we had to get the girls ready quick and hit the road. They had some pouches at home before eating their breakfast of dry cereal in the car. Every meal can’t be a winner! Oh, and Lucy is fine, which is good, but the doctor said the cough could last three weeks which is not so good!
Once we got home from the doctor we changed back into our jammies and got busy decorating! I wish I could say it was soooo much fun decorating with the girls and that we made all these wonderful memories. But I’d be lying. Parts of it were fun, but it really was a bit chaotic!
We stopped for a muffin break after putting the ornaments on the tree. That tired mama look I’m sporting is courtesy of my sleepless night with Lucy.
How cute are these window clings that Lucy picked out for her room?!
Sunday mornings are for snuggles with babies and stuffies in our bed!
Matt’s former boss got a new puppy, so we took the girls to go meet him yesterday morning.
Baylor is the cutest!
So . . we went to see the puppy and somehow came home with this giant pony!
This thing is 14 years old and still going strong! It neighs, moves its head back and forth, and wags its tail. Lucy LOVED it, and they were giving it to us for free, so there’s no way I could have said no!
Just off to the grocery . . . with a pony in the back of our car!
The battery pack is up in the tummy, and it looked like Matty was performing surgery on the horse!
This is not ok with me!
Put that pony out in the garage for the night and lock the door!
Our weekend was super busy, but it was totally worth it because this is my view right now!
And because our new tree from Costco is so awesome, this is my view with the push of a button on the remote! We no longer have to choose between white or colored lights! We couldn’t be happier with this tree. Thanks, Costco!
Have a great, short week!
XOXO
