Happy Monday, friends!
We had a pretty good weekend here at the Kissel house!
It got off to a rocky start on Thursday when I basically scarred Ems for life by taking her through the car wash with me. She just screamed, “Nooooo!” the entire time. I don’t think I’ll be taking her again any time soon. #oops
The girls have been super into playing “pony” lately. I don’t love the Ems tries to ride Lucy . . . but Lucy does!
We woke up to quite the surprise on Friday morning . . . snow! It was not a welcome surprise, in my opinion, but the girls were excited.
This tree in our front yard is actually not my favorite, but it looked very pretty with snow on it! Lucy was dying to get outside and play, but we were hosting a play date Friday morning, so she had to wait until later in the day.
A Moana/Abby Cadabby mixture was pretty darn cute . . .
. . . until she turned herself into the cutest Abby Cadabby ever!
Except for Amelia who had the costume for Halloween. Apparently Em and Amelia both think Abby requires the ultimate cheese face smile!
Once our friends left, we took much longer than I expected to get snow clothes on and headed outside before lunch.
This was Emmy’s first time to actually play in the snow since she was too little last year. She was a little hesitant at first, but ended up liking it quite a bit!
We only have one kiddie snow shovel. That is a problem that will most definitely need to be fixed by the next snowfall!
This girl loves nothing more than to try on all my bracelets . . . at the same time!
We ran to Kroger Friday evening, and these girls took it upon themselves to go and sit on the bench and wait for me while I checked out.
Just your typical Friday night tipping backward in your chair . . . over and over and over again!
Oh man, Saturday morning after breakfast we packed up the girls, and I drove them down to my parents’ house for the rest of the day and night! On my way back home I stopped by this little boutique in Plymouth that my friend Marie told me about. I had already vowed that this was my year to finally get a buffalo check shirt for the holidays . . . and this one was perfect! The gray and black shirt was just an added bonus! ๐
We had a bunch of friends over on Saturday night. There was a lot of food and drinks. And beer tasting.
Listen, we are a crazy bunch. At one point someone mentioned that if your arm span is the same as your height, you are considered a “square” and that if your arm span is longer than your height, it increases your “ape factor.” So, of course, I busted out the tape measure, and everyone got measured! Do we know how to party or what??
This group has been together a long time! So Matty and Brandon (in the sweater on the right) have known each other (and lived directly across the street from one another) since early elementary school. He met the rest of the guys in college and then the girlfriends started popping up . . . and then the girlfriends turned into wives! Fun fact: Brandon and I actually went to preschool together and our moms were friends! So, even though he and Matty were BFFs, I technically knew him first. #smallworld
We had a great time playing around with the timer on my phone. The idea to take one group pic led to like a ten minute photo session of crazy fun/silly poses. We’ll just stick with the basic pose, though. ๐
We hung out until a little after midnight, which is pretty darn good for us these days.
One more quick pic and then everyone headed home. Next time we’ll include the kiddos in our get together. Maybe.
This made me laugh . . . and then Matty reading it over my shoulder and telling me it made sense made me laugh even harder!
I save ideas like this all the time, but never actually make them. I vow to make these for the girls before Thanksgiving. They have been super into bacon lately, so it’s perfect timing!
We have a low key week ahead of us, which is fine with me.
We are going to start decorating for Christmas next weekend, so I might start taking inventory of what I have vs. what I need/want. We bought our new tree from Costco a few weeks ago, and we are PUMPED to get it set up and decorate it top to bottom!
Have a great week!
XOXO
