Happy Monday, friends!
We had a fairly low key weekend which was fantastic!
I’m starting it off strong here with a picture of how much damage Emmy can do during a 30 second bathroom break. All of my products were removed from the cupboard and placed up on the counter. I should probably be thankful that she wasn’t sitting on my lap while I went (I wish I was joking!). However, she was about five seconds away from pumping the heck out of my expensive Moroccan Oil styling cream, which means I was was about seven seconds from losing my ever lovin’ mind!
Lucy was super excited when I picked her up from school on Thursday because she got to bring home Beary Nice for the weekend! He got to hang out with us and we wrote about his adventures in a special notebook.
Thursday afternoon we made homemade applesauce, and Lucy and I were both impressed with how long of an apple peel I was able to get!
It’s a bear party!
I think Ems was even more excited about Beary Nice than Lucy. Every time Emmy saw him she yelled, “Nice!” and gave him a big hug.
Matty was home with us on Friday morning, and we got out and enjoyed the cold weather by taking a walk. He says we really should call it a “mosey” because we don’t move very quickly with two free range girlies. They love it, though, and it tires them out.
Matty and his friends played their last 18 holes of the season on Friday afternoon, so the girls and I headed down to my parents’ house. Lucy got right to work playing dress up and caring for the babies.
My mom took the girls to Stroh’s to get ice cream for Sweetest Day. Lucy got chocolate with sprinkles, and Emmy continued her love affair with chocolate malts.
We made pumpkin shaped pancakes with the girls on Saturday morning. I think they had more fun making them than eating them. Matty and I found them to be delightful paired with a dollop of homemade jam from the Heinbuchs!
Lucy and I went to run a few errands Saturday afternoon while Ems napped. Once she woke up, Matty needed to figure out a way to get her a snack while he could still chill and watch football. . . so he rolled her high chair next to the couch and they shared some pretzels. #whateverworks
Meanwhile, I wasn’t getting too much accomplished at the store because Lucy was waaaay too distracted by the toy section at Kohls!
Lucy was living her best life on Sunday morning!
Our neighborhood hosted a Halloween Bash for the kiddos on Sunday afternoon. Lucy was SO EXCITED to finally get to wear her Elena of Avalor costume.
This is the best picture I could get of both girls. Luckily, we’ll have another chance on Halloween!
They were so cute walking to the party!
Emmy hopped most of the way and said, “Hop! Hop!” as she went. I tried to tell her she was a duck, not a bunny, but she didn’t care. Maybe she’s not the brightest duck in the flock! ๐
The party was so cute! The girls got to decorate/eat sugar cookies . . .
. . . make a ghost craft . . .
. . . and do a mediocre job of getting their picture taken!
We don’t know this little guy, but how awesome is this picture? I couldn’t resist snapping it. This little dude looks like he’s about to chomp up all of those cupcakes!
Don’t let their smiles fool you. About two minutes before this picture was taken, they were both having major dinner time meltdowns. I blame the sugar cookie, mini cupcake, and bag of chips they had eaten an hour before at the Halloween party! Neither one would calm down until they were on my lap . . . so that’s where they ended up.
We have a pretty standard week ahead of us.
It looks like the weather is going to be cool all week, which I’m totally ready for, however both girls are boycotting socks, shoes, coats, and hats. Other than super gluing them all on, I’m not sure how to make these stinkers understand that they need to start staying warm! So far me saying “Girls, keep your socks/shoes/hat/jacket on!” hasn’t been working. ๐
Have a great week!
XOXO
