This was our second annual family trip to Cedar Point, and it was just as fun as last year!
It did get off to a rocky start, though. We woke the girls up bright and early and hit the road at 7am. We stopped to drop Emmy off at my mom and dad’s and let Lucy take a bathroom break. We got back in the car and made it (literally) around the corner before Lucy said she had to go potty again. So we went back to my parents’ house for one last potty break before we were on our way.
About ten minutes after leaving my parents’ house, Lucy suddenly realized that she had forgotten to bring Pink Snoopy with her from our house. She LOST HER MIND and wanted us to turn around and go get him. #nope #arewethereyet
This tantrum was epic. It lasted about thirty minutes and included all the kicking, screaming, begging, and more screaming that you can imagine. At first we tried to soothe and reason with her . . . then moved on to bargaining. Nothing worked, so we eventually went with ignoring . . . and photographing. This picture doesn’t do it justice.
But never fear, she eventually calmed down and had herself a nice little time eating a cinnamon raisin biscuit in the car. Let’s be real, if I was irrationally losing my mind over something a sweet treat would probably calm me down too. However, I’d probably keep throwing my tantrum til a sour cream donut or a cinnamon roll appeared in front of me. #youcankeepyourbiscuit
We made it! I didn’t take a picture of our hotel, but we stayed at Hotel Breakers which is attached to the amusement park and water park. The convenience of being so close definitely outweighs the cost of staying there. The rooms are great, it’s right on the beach, and we can leave the park and walk back to our room in 10 minutes. No muss, no fuss!
We picked up our tickets and headed straight for Planet Snoopy!
Matty took the kiddos on a ride so that Brian and I could tend to more important things.
This is Brian’s niece, Riley, who is the ultimate mother’s helper!
Lucy LOVES the rides and wasn’t afraid to ride anything in Planet Snoopy, Camp Snoopy, or Kiddie Kingdom. In fact, there were some regular rides that she really wanted to go on, but we fibbed and said she wasn’t tall enough yet . . . because WE didn’t want to go on them! #ferriswheel #cablecars
I don’t really know what was going on here, but I’d like to think Lu was showing the kids how to have a little extra fun on the ride.
According to Lucy, she was flying Tommy to Mexico.
The view from our room! We loved hearing all the beach sounds when we left the balcony door open, but we couldn’t do it for long because it was SO HUMID when we were there. My hair was not happy.
This was our crew at dinner the first night! Three long tables, each with at least ten people, and I believe there were a few still missing!
We had planned to go to the indoor pool after dinner on Friday, but somehow ended up at the beach! This was Lucy’s first time, and she loved it!
Saturday morning at 9:30. Hotel Breakers guests get early access to the park, so everyone else was already starting off day two while I was waiting on this little lady to rise and shine.
She finally woke up, ate a giant blueberry muffin from Starbucks in the stroller on the way to the park, and started off her day with some face painting. #itsgoodtobelucy
This guy rode some coasters and found himself a corndog for breakfast while Lucy got her face painted. #itsgoodtobematty
She was soooo excited about her princess mask!
We rode rides for a few hours before heading back to the hotel for lunch.
The only one in line!
Saturday was HOT! After lunch we headed to the water park. We left our phones at the hotel so I have zero pictures. Just envision the biggest water park you’ve ever seen, jam packed with a ton of people, and our little group chasing the kiddos around the splash pad, riding water slides over and over . . . and over and over . . .and then taking a ride down the lazy river.
We ordered pizza by the pool that night for dinner.
We took a picture in the giant adirondack chair . . .
. . . and then headed back to the park for more rides!
How cute are these four?! They rode a bunch of rides together and were so darn cute!
We walked along the beach back to our room, and Lucy turned into a dancing queen! She loved the music and lights! It was 10pm by this point, and she was fired up. We figured she’d never fall asleep, but she passed out right after her shower. #perfect
It was a great weekend! We missed our Emmy Roses, but there was no way she would have enjoyed this trip yet. She HATES the stroller, the heat, and most things involving water. We plan on taking her next year, though, so hopefully she shapes up!
Oh, and for those of you wondering, I did ride a rollercoaster! We hopped on the Magnum real quick the first day. There was no line so I didn’t have time to psych myself out. It was 90% terrifying and 10% fun. And I was 100% sure I didn’t need to ride another one! ๐
XOXO
