We decided to do things a bit differently this year and have Lucy’s birthday at Funtastic. It was a great idea for so many reasons:
1. It’s Lucy’s favorite place to play.
2. We could invite all of her little friends and their parents.
3. No worries about the weather . . . which was great because it was 45 and rainy!
4. I didn’t have to have it at our house!!! Woo hoo!!
We chose the 10am-12pm party slot because that way we could just serve donuts and also because it’s the first party of the day so the equipment would be nice and clean. Everything turned out great, and we couldn’t have been happier! Lucy and her friends had fun, the adults had fun, and the awesome people at Funtastic did the clean up!
So sit back, relax, and enjoy all the happy faces!
We did a donut theme for the party. All of the kiddos got a bag with a donut cup, a donut cookie, sidewalk chalk, a rubber ducky, and candy.
A huge thank you to Carla for making the super cute cookies!
Funtastic let me come in on Friday night to set up for Lucy’s party, which made Saturday morning so much more laid back.
There were bunches of balloons on these tables on Saturday morning, but I forgot to take a picture.
Lucy was so excited to have the place to herself for a few minutes before her friends arrived!
All of the mamas couldn’t make it, but I certainly had fun with the ones that could.
The dads made themselves comfy . . . and did a great job playing with the kiddos!
We are a year in and still don’t have a framable picture of our family of four.
Setting up the kiddos for a group picture. Launching a spaceship is probably easier!
And then you run to get out of the shot before anyone starts wandering away.
SO CUTE!!!
Oliver definitely enjoyed his first bite of apple fritter!
I asked Amelia to say “Cheese,” and she did . . .while shoving her donut in her mouth!
Emmy Roses was definitely starting to get tired!
They need to install a camera or video camera at the slides. They are FAST, and everyone was taking selfies at the top and videos on the way down. So. Much. Sliding!
Baby races!
The kids loved hiding inside this thing . . . and so did Carla!
Such a fun set up for opening gifts!
This was toward the end of the two hour party. Can you tell she’s getting tired??
Lucy did a great job thanking everyone for the gifts.
About 60 seconds after we got home from the party, Lucy put on her Moana costume that her friend Amelia got her.
And then five minutes after that she switched to the Belle costume from her friend Greta!
Even princesses have to help carry things in from the car!
I can’t speak for all Funtastic locations, but the one in Canton was top notch! Everything was clean, and the workers were so helpful. It was a great place to celebrate Lucy turning three!
We have a busy week ahead of us. Lucy’s actual birthday is Tuesday, so she’ll get to celebrate with her friends at school and then we’ll have a little Moana themed lunch with her grandparents afterward.
If you feel like taking a trip down memory lane, here are the links for Lucy’s first and second birthday parties.
Have a great week!
XOXO
