Happy Thursday, friends!

Actually, it’s not going to be a very happy day for us. We have to put Sydney down this afternoon, and it’s going to be so sad. I’d like to think that she just doesn’t enjoy being here without Snort. She has lived 11 great years, and every day of them was spent with Snort until six weeks ago ๐ She’s had some health problems, is eating sporadically and has a possible torn ACL/cancerous tumor in one of her back legs. It’s time. We know it’s a reasonable decision . . . but that doesn’t make the actual process any less heart breaking. But, I’m going to try not to dwell too much on it until it’s time for the appointment, because there’s a certain little toddler at our home who picks up on my moods, and I can’t even fathom having to explain this to her. . . again. ugh.

So, let’s focus on some happy things for the time being!
When Matty was in Mexico last week, Emmy stayed the night at my parents’ house one night and had a great time enjoying the spring weather with Gordie.
Lucy had fallen asleep in the car and stayed asleep when I put her on my parents’ couch. Emmy trying to wake her up was adorable!
This is how I prep breakfast . . . and lunch . . . and dinner . . . and snacks. Good things she’s cute!
Lucy had her first fire drill at school, so of course we had to take a selfie while we waited outside. #priorities
This is a pretty stylish outfit for the sandbox. That sassy little side pony is perfect for this feisty little almost three-year-old.
It was cool and windy last week, but we were so happy to be outside!
I wanted a pic of my girls in their matching Minnie Mouse outfits, and this is the best I could do. Lately, Ems thinks the sole purpose of any chair is for her to climb it or launch herself off of it, so I had Lucy hold her down, which didn’t help.
Summer weather came in with a bang on Monday, and we have been soaking it up for the past three days!
I ran to Hobby Lobby after dinner Monday night. When I got home, Matty said Lucy was hiding in the back yard and waiting for me to find her. This is what I found on the patio!
How sweet is Lucy walking in to school with a cute tin of cookies for her teachers?!
Lucy’s going through some weird phase at school lately and has been pretty clingy. Her teacher was showing the girls a jar of caterpillars, and everyone dove in to see . . . except Lulu.
Once they spread out a bit, I finally convinced her to go take a look.
Washing dishes is Lucy’s love language . . . so you can imagine her delight when her teachers put out a dish washing station this week!
One of Lucy’s classmates brought in the cutest fruit caterpillars for a birthday treat. Lucy dove right in!
Wednesday morning we were outside and playing by 8:30!
The first romper of the summer!
We went for a walk in Downtown Plymouth, and happened to walk by the fountain just as the workers turned it on!
Lucy wanted to eat her snack at her picnic table . . .which was still in the shed. I told her if she wanted to use it she had to help wash it, and she did a great job.
Emmy is at a weird phase because she isn’t walking on her own yet, but doesn’t want to crawl around on the grass. I saw this toy on a mom to mom site and thought it would be perfect for her to use outside. We picked it up yesterday, and she cruised all over the yard with it after dinner!
We’ll be doing all sorts of outdoor chores this weekend . . . while also getting used to life without dogs. It’s going to be weird, that’s for sure!
XOXO
