Between Easter and Emily’s birthday I haven’t been doing my regular posts, and the random pictures on my phone have been building up. So grab a cup of coffee and a snack . . . or two . . . because I’ve got a hodge podge of cuteness to share!
One of Lucy’s classmates brought a birthday treat into school a few weeks ago. It was a chocolate covered pretzel rod, and Lucy ate it like it was corn on the cob. And don’t even get me started on the size of her cheeks!
She has her paleontologist hat and binoculars and is all set to hunt for dinosaur eggs.
This is a picture of me from my second Easter . . . there’s no denying that Emmy Roses is mine!
Lucy and I went to Nordstrom so I could pick up some make up. The lady helping me was so sweet and had Lucy hop up in the chair for some make up. Lucy loved it!
Matty brought home some kiddie chopsticks, and Lucy had a great time feeding us cereal with them. Side note: I would have given ANYTHING to get to use the kiddie chopsticks when we lived in South Korea! I can hold my own with a piece of sushi or chunk of fruit . . . but do you know how hard it is to eat a salad or little pieces of corn with chopsticks?! #very
Emmy loves to try on these pineapple sunglasses, even though they are way too big to stay one.
Carla bought Lucy this cereal bowl with a built in straw. Here she is blowing bubbles into her milk. Thank you, Aunt Carla! ๐
Lucy is all over the place with potty training. Some days she’ll use the potty several times a day and other days she refuses to use it at all. We were at Babies R Us the other day, and she said she needed to go. At first I figured she was just interested in seeing the bathroom . . . but she actually went potty! She loved the little sink, too.
Because I was feeling all kinds of brave after I conquered the potty at Babies R Us, I decided to take the girls out to lunch with my mom instead of taking carry out home. Emmy had her phones ready in case she got any important calls . . .
. . . but quickly abandoned them once the pita bread arrived.
Lucy had a great time spilling her soup every single bite, and dipping Oma’s pita bread in ranch dressing.
This happy girl is what Emily normally is like . . .
. . . but when you’ve got FIVE teeth coming at once, she screams her way through Target. I had already gotten both girls dressed, into the store, and settled in the cart, so we were committed to going through with the trip!
She really is the goofiest baby ever, and these pigtails don’t help! ๐
Amelia came over for a playdate last week, and Lucy had a good time dressing her up.
The cold temperatures, wind, rain, and snow have been out of control the past few weeks. It was actually tolerable to be outside for a bit last Thursday, so we high tailed it to the park after Ems woke up from her nap.
Lucy loves riding through the rain puddles.
We had some fun at the library on Friday.
It was getting close to nap time, though, and Emmy was having trouble keeping up.
Lucy randomly asked if she could give Emmy her sippy cup of milk before bed the other day. Sisterly displays of affection are rare, so we happily agreed.
Fish lips!
Lucy’s expression in this picture cracks me up!
I’ve decided that, for the most part, I’ll give Lucy the freedom to choose her daily outfit (or, as it usually goes, her daily three or four outfits). This way, when I really need her to wear something that I choose I have a little leverage and there isn’t a meltdown. So far, it’s working.
Lucy was invited to her friend Catherine’s birthday party on Sunday. It was at a gymnastics facility, and Lucy loved it. Except for the stretching at the beginning. To be fair, Greta (bottom right of the picture) was really the only one actually following along with the teacher. Way to go, Greta!
She really is party monkey.
Lucy was loving life in the block pit.
And if you thought Miss Roses was going to miss out on the block pit fun, you were wrong! That baby loved sliding down the slide into the blocks!
The party theme was Frozen. Check out the awesome cake!
We ended the weekend playing with bubbles in the backyard. . . in the craziest outfit ever!
Phew! You made it!
We have a pretty standard week ahead of us. Emmy has her one year well visit on Tuesday, and I can’t wait to get her stats and do a comparison post with Lucy.
Have a great week!
XOXO
