As you read today’s post, please remember that the whole point of this blog is for me to share pictures of my sweet girls with all of our friends and family . . . and all the strangers on the Internet. And, today, share I shall! I took a brain break last Thursday, so now I have lots of pictures to share from our week and weekend.
The weather was fantastic the first half of last week, and we were able to be outside three days in a row!
Lucy can blow her own bubbles this year!
Lucy woke up a little fussy on Tuesday morning. I spent some time cuddling her on the couch . . .
. . . while my always sweet and happy Emmy Roses looked on.
Lucy perked up pretty darn quickly, though, when Oma came over bearing a giant gift from my dad. #thanksalotpop
He even had to ride to school with us. (Side note: my dad also sent a small bunny stuffy for Emily. She usually loves all things soft and cuddly, but Emmy despises that bunny with every fiber of her being! She took one look at her bunny and then one look at Lu’s and realized something was up. Word on the street is that Pop headed right back to the store and got a giant pink bunny for Ems.)
The kiddos got to do a science experiment at school on Tuesday. Lucy got to help pour water onto the Skittles so that they could watch the colors wash off and form a cool design.
She also got to pass out napkins to her friends for snack time. I’ll be so sad to see Stay n Play end; Lucy is really coming out of her shell!
We finally got to go outside for play time, and all of the mamas were commenting that when the girls tried to ride these bikes back in the fall we had to help push them because their feet wouldn’t reach the pedals!
Tuesday afternoon snack time was in the backyard. It took longer to get ready to go outside than what we were actually out there, but it was totally worth it to be out in the fresh air.
Emily loves putting toys in Sydney’s bed. Sydney loves it too, can’t you tell??
We headed to the park with Grandma Ri on Wednesday and saw the fluffiest dog ever!
Love my sweet girls!
Lucy must have been in a very kind mood on Thursday because she let Emmy snuggle up on her rainbow pillow.
Miss Roses turned 11 months this week, and Lucy wanted to get in on the photo shoot. I may or may not have used gummy bears to bribe her. #noshame
The weather on Thursday was the worst! It was 35 and pouring rain all day . . .until it got colder and turned into snow. However, Lucy had gotten used to being outside all week and would not take no for an answer. I swear, she is RELENTLESS! So during the last fifteen minutes of Emmy’s morning nap, we bundled up and went out in the icy cold rain.
Matty came home a little early, and, of course, Lucy persuaded him to take her back outside.
Emmy was content to stand at the patio door while Matty threw snowballs at the glass.
We headed to Holiday Market bright and early Saturday morning. As always, the girls were a hit with the ladies at the deli.
Lucy made her obligatory trip into the beer cooler . . .
. . . and left with a pink balloon. When we got to the store, she told Matty and me that if she was really good while we shopped that she was going to get a balloon as a reward. How could we say no?!
I took Lucy to a birthday party for one of her little friends Saturday afternoon. I don’t know why, but she wanted us to sit down for the picture.
The party was at the gymnastics facility we go to frequently, so Lucy and all the other kiddos were in their glory.
While we were at the party, Emily and Matty were hanging out at home.
It had been a busy Saturday, and it was clear that both girls were coming down with colds. I was just trying to survive until bedtime!
Unfortunately, Emmy’s cold hit her fast and hard. All she did was cry whenever we tried to lay her in her crib for bed, so this is how I spent a good part of my Saturday evening/Sunday morning.
For some reason, we thought it’d be a good idea to go out to breakfast with both girls on Sunday morning. While it wasn’t awful, it certainly wasn’t relaxing or enjoyable!
You can see in this picture that Emmy’s cold was in full force. Her eyes, nose, and mouth are all drippy . . .poor little baby.
The kids meal came with four big pancakes! Lucy ate two of them without blinking an eye!
Emmy started using her push toy to walk this weekend, and it’s the cutest thing!
Here’s a not so short video. Editing it would have taken more time, and I’m running out of steam!
I might be in for another tough night. This is how Emmy snuggled up to me on Sunday evening. She usually goes right into her crib and goes to sleep, so when there’s excessive crying we know she needs some cuddles.
In between all of our activities this weekend, Matty spent many hours installing wall mounts to hang our new tv on the wall in the living room and move the old tv to the wall in our bedroom. It took longer than anticipated (as those types of projects always do), and it made for a very busy weekend.
Thanks for hanging in til the end. Honestly, I almost didn’t make it! I deleted a few pictures just because I wanted to be done so I could relax for a few.
Here’s hoping that we have a good week, and the girls’ colds clear up sooner rather than later!
XOXO
