I’m really not sure how it happened!
Time is weird. It seems like just yesterday that we brought Emmy home, but I also can’t really remember her first few months of life. I’m sure the rebelling two-year-old and the 12 weeks of colic and exhaustion have something to do with that . . . but I’d do it all over in a heartbeat. With Emily, not with a third baby! #justtobeclear
We’ll be celebrating our sweet girl today with a bunny party, and I can’t wait! Lucy was a big disappointment in the cake department as far as first birthdays go (sorry, but it’s true), and I truly think Emily is going to make up for that and then some. As long as there’s food in front of her, she won’t care about people staring at her. I hope so, anyway! I’m fairly certain the screaming and crying will commence once it’s time to take the cake away, though.
I could go on and on . . .and on and on and on . . . about how sweet, goofy, and crazy this second Kissel girl is, but I have a party to get ready for! So, instead, I’m going to share a few photos from the day she was born, all of her monthly photos, and a few from her one year photo shoot.
In case you’ve forgotten all about it, you can read Emily’s birth story here.
Thank you so much to everyone who has loved on us and our girls this past year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
XOXO

March 31, 2017: All checked in and ready to meet our girl!
A few hours later . . . slightly puffier due to the IV fluids, but one happy mama!
Oh, my heart!
The collage program I use only lets me do up to nine photos at a time. ugh! Here are the two collages of Em’s monthly pictures.
I did Lucy’s first birthday photo shoot, and it turned out really well. I had high hopes for Emily’s, but I was a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, they look cute, I just don’t love them as much as I wish I did.
This one is actually a little blurry when I enlarge it, but it shows off her cute smile.
And just for fun, here’s a little sneak peek at what really happens most of the time at the Kissel house. Don’t worry, Ems was totally fine.
And finally, the girls had Easter pictures taken earlier in the week, and the photographer snapped a few quick ones with Emily and a birthday cake prop. This was at the end of the session so she wasn’t super in to it, but I think I’m sold on paying for once or twice a year professional photos for the girls. So much less stressful for me!
Oh, wait, one more thing. You know I love a good comparison picture, so here’s a silly one of both girls.
Check back tomorrow to see the girls’ Easter pictures!
