Life Lately

February 8, 2018 by Molly Leave a Comment

Happy Thursday, friends!
I have big plans tomorrow (which I’ll discuss at the end), so this week is crawwwwwling by for me. But we’re in the home stretch, so I’m happy!
We’ve had a pretty good week around here. Sunday morning started off with the whole family making breakfast. Emmy helped by playing the drums on LuLu’s tower, which made Lucy very happy. #not
Matty helped Lucy get dressed on Sunday, so of course she came out in this tracksuit. I “just happened” to have a matching one stashed away for Emily. And now we have my new favorite sister pic!

This picture cracks me up. Emmy and I were checking out at Meijer and happened to get a lane right by the penny pony.

Sunday afternoon I decided to do a Valentine’s Day photo shoot with the girls. I had been pondering it for about a week, and finally decided to just make my idea work and go for it. When I told Lucy we were going to take pictures outside, she disappeared into her room for a bit and came out wearing her snow pants and said she wanted to wear them for her picture. #nicetry #nothappening

In an attempt to delay taking off her snow pants, Lu stopped for some Sydney snuggles and Emmy joined in. Doesn’t Syd look so happy?!

Matty snapped this of me from the house while I was outside setting up the backdrop for our photo shoot. I’ll share the pics on Valentine’s Day!

As a reward for cooperating for pictures, Matty took Lucy outside to play in the snow for real.

Sunday evening we watched the Super Bowl, minus the delicious Super Bowl snacks. #boring
I fall in the purple category, what about you? Don’t act like you didn’t think about it during the halftime show!

Monday was my birthday! I’m officially 36. Andy, Sadie, and Gordie had a snow day which was weird because the weather and roads were totally fine. So fine, in fact, that they loaded up and headed out to our house to celebrate with me. Nothing says “birthday celebration” better than playing in the snow when it’s 15 degrees out! Seriously, though, it turned out to be pretty fun!

Emmy Roses got her first taste of a graham cracker and loved it.

And I got this super cute card that Sadie made for me. The likeness is uncanny! 😉

On Monday night, Lucy got a kick out of trying on Matty’s hoodie.

Lucy proudly wore her Trolls shirt to school on Tuesday and had fun riding the big tricycle.

My Target delivery had a long strip of those air packet thingies . . . which provided a lot of entertainment for everyone while Matty and Lucy stepped on them. Except Sydney, the poor dingo was terrified of the popping noise. There was a time when I would have made Matty stop, but now the excitement of my child seems to overrule the scared dingo!

Lucy said she was cold yesterday morning, so the obvious solution was for her to take off her warm, cozy pants and put on her robe.

More doggie snuggles! This time with Snort.

Lucy’s giant head is too big for her toddler size winter hats. I found this little gem for $2.80 in the older girls section at Target. Lu wasn’t feeling it at first, but eventually warmed up to it.

We got a delivery yesterday that had TONS of this long paper. It was Emmy’s turn to have some fun, and she sat there for along time and shook it and crinkled it. Surprisingly, she didn’t ever try to eat it!

This made me laugh. Everyone we know seems to be getting sick. There’s a round of it going on at Matty’s work, and Andy has started off round two in our family. Let’s hope it ends with him as well! Is it April yet??
And that’s all she wrote.
I have big plans on Friday that I’ve been looking forward to for over a month. The girls are each going to a grandma for the night, and I’m having six other mamas come over for a fun girls night. However, Mother Nature seems to have other plans and is planning a Snowmageddon for Friday. I’d appreciate it if she’d help a fellow mama out and keep the snow away, but it’s not looking good. My best hope is that all the snow happens early and gets cleared by evening. #please #prettyplease #withacherryontop
Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
