It’s been a pretty easy week around here so far. Other than school on Tuesday morning, we’ve pretty much just hung out at home. It’s very unlike me, but I just haven’t felt like going anywhere or doing anything! There’s talk of a play date on Friday, so I’ll probably get it together and get out of the house by then.
Lucy had some work to do on Monday, so she put on her safety goggles and got to it!
Lucy finally wore me down, and I took her outside to play while Emmy Roses napped Monday afternoon. It was very cold and windy, but she didn’t care!
Emily has been sleeping terribly ever since last Thursday. She has just been crying and crying . . . and crying . . . when we put her down for naps or bed. Usually she just rolls over and goes to sleep, so this was out of the ordinary. Even though she had no other symptoms, I finally called the doctor Monday afternoon to see if her ears could be checked for an infection. We had to wait a bit in the room, and Em passed the time by playing with the paper on the table . . .
. . . and having a snack!
The good news is that her ears are totally fine. But the doctor checked her mouth and said her molars are about ready to pop through and that she’s probably been having some pain. #duh #didnteventhinkaboutteething #ifeelterrible
Even the best sleepers need some extra snuggles when those pesky molars are working their way through. There is nothing better than baby snuggles!
Lucy was having a bit of an identity crisis in the dress up area at school, but she made it work!
I really should take a video, because it’s so cute to see Emmy’s little feet working hard to give her big sister a ride!
The molars have also affected what time Miss Roses has been waking up. Instead of a consistent 7:30am wake up time, she’s been more like 6:30/6:45. If she’s going to mess with my morning routine, then she’s gonna get an early morning camera flash to document how cute she is!
Emily turned ten months old yesterday! She is such a little wiggly worm on her chair, and it’s getting harder and harder to get good monthly pictures of her.
Here are both of my sweet girls at ten months. They look sooo different to me here!
Lucy has been trying so hard to learn how to zip up her own coat . . . thanks a LOT, Daniel Tiger! Anyhoo, since we had nowhere to go today and weren’t in a time crunch, I suggested she put on her coat and give it a try . . . or fifty! She was getting very frustrated and upset, but REFUSES to let me demonstrate, which frustrates the heck out of me. Out of nowhere, Lucy hops up and says, “I know what will help me, momoozle!” And then she comes back with her goggles on!
They didn’t help, but I’m giving her an A for effort!
We had pasta with a slightly spicy sauce for lunch yesterday, and the girls gobbled it up. I literally could not cut it up fast enough for Emily!
It was 38 and sunny during Em’s afternoon nap yesterday, so this sweet girl and I spent some time outside playing.
Nooooo! Mommy still wants to feed you your bottle!
Lucy is OBSESSED with the Trolls movie. She loves Princess Poppy, and would spend all day dressed up as a princess dancing to the Trolls music if I’d let her. The songs are in my head all day every day. I’m not kidding. I’m singing “Get Back Up Again” to myself right now!
Emily crawled into the bathroom and pulled herself up to the tub to see what Lucy was up to. It was so cute!
The above picture kind of reminded me of this picture that is one of my favorites of Matty and Lucy.
And you know how I love a good comparison pic! #cantstop #wontstop
I’m typing this Wednesday night, and I’m about to attempt (for the third night in a row!) to finish The Bachelor. Must. Stay. Awake!
We have a big weekend planned . . . it’s DONUT DAY on Sunday! haha
My birthday is on Monday, and we are celebrating with my family Sunday morning because my one birthday wish is to have donuts from Dom’s Bakery instead of cake. They are insanely good!
Matty and I have REALLY cut back on the sweets and treats in our house since the new year started, and I have been waiting for this day for weeks now! I went from going through a bag of chocolate chips over a two day period to being able to count on one hand (and not need all of my fingers) the amount of chocolate I’ve had since January 1st. I swear I went through a detox phase, too. The first two weeks almost killed me, but now it’s actually not so bad. Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with a cheat meal every now and then. And Sunday is my day. Look out sour cream donuts and apple fritters . . . I’m coming for you!
Have a great weekend!
Go, Tom Brady!
XOXO
Such cute pics in this post (like always) but spicy spaghetti face is my fav❤
