Playing Catch Up

January 29, 2018 by Molly Leave a Comment

It’s amazing how being sick in bed for 30 hours can wreak havoc on your schedule/system/routine. We spent the weekend catching up on household chores, projects, and errands. It was great to be over our illnesses and have Matty back home. However, there were a few instances where Matty and I looked at each other and were like “What is happening?? We are losing all control!” #thanksgirls
I probably could divide this into two posts, but you’re going to get one long one instead!
Let’s start with this little gem from when Matty was in Mexico. We were Face Timing with him, and he was kissing the girls goodnight. So sweet!
We’ve noticed a big difference this last week in how well Emmy can maneuver her walker. She can even pull Lucy along with her now!

Peek a Boo!

Lucy was so happy to be wearing one of Sadie’s old shirts!

Lucy basically recreated my exact reaction when Matty got home from Mexico.

Lucy always wears her safety glasses when doing projects with Daddy.

On Friday morning, Carla and I took Gordie and Lucy to see Sesame Street Live! This was my and Lucy’s first time doing anything like this, and we were pumped . . . can’t you tell?!

There was a lot of people, and Lucy was overwhelmed for the first little bit, but LOVED her light up Abby Cadabby wand she picked out with the money Oma and Pop gave her to spend.

Finally warming up and waving to the characters!

I wish Carla or I had had our phones ready when Abby Cadabby came out. Lucy’s reaction was PRICELESS. Here she is a few minutes after she got done waving and yelling hi at Abby!

We had great seats!

After the show, Carla needed to stop by the box office to get some other tickets, and I got some cute pics of the kiddos while we waited.

Friday was a beautiful day, and after Emmy’s nap we went for a walk . . .

 . . . made a stop at the playground . . .

. . . and got out the tricycle!

We had a return to do at the mall on Saturday and let the girlies play at the play place.

Not surprisingly, Emmy Roses loved it!

Before too long, LuLu is going to have to find a different spot to keep Nonnie out of reach!

We had great weather again on Sunday, and Matty and Lucy played at the park for quite a long time in the morning.

Lucy woke up at 5:45 on Sunday morning. #ugh
After waking up so early, playing at the park, and going with us to a preschool open house, it only took me about five minutes to get Lucy to take a nap.

Even after a two hour nap, Lu was still in need of some snuggles.

I will be forever grateful that Matty is the bath master at our house. #ihateit #nojoke
The spring clothes are out at Kohls, and I’m proud to say I exercised great restraint! Emily, most likely, won’t need anything because of all of Lucy’s old clothes, but I couldn’t resist getting her a few things.

I am so ready to get back to a normal week! I was obviously in no shape to take Lucy to school last Tuesday, and I really missed it!
Have a great week!
XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
