Life lately has been great . . . because Matty was home for eleven days! ELEVEN! We crammed a lot in to our Christmas vacation, and I was so sad to see Matty go back to work yesterday!
The day after Christmas Matty took Lucy and her entourage to run a few errands.
What do you mean I ate all the cookies??!
Two days after Christmas, we headed down to Toledo for Eleanor’s Baptism. The ceremony started at 10am, and our drive was a little over an hour. We set an 8:30am departure time, and I think we missed it by like eight minutes. This was the first time since Emmy’s been born that we had to get everyone up early, fed, dressed up, and out the door by a certain time. I think we did a pretty good job!
The girls did great during the Baptism, and we were so proud of Lucy for sitting with all of the other kiddos.
The girls played hard at the after party and crashed on the drive home.
How cute is this outfit that Carla bought for Emmy?!
My parents came over to play with the girls, and I got this sweet picture of my dad and Em.
Last Friday we took all four kiddos to Sky Zone. I don’t have any picture of the kids, but I do have this. Matty and Brian took a turn in the massage chairs!
The girls wore the matching outfits that Grandma Ri bought them for Christmas.
This picture was meant to recreate one that was taken at the cottage over Labor Day. Emmy Roses is definitely bigger!
Tiny baby, gigantic baby!
I hope she never really needs glasses, but at least we know Lucy will look unbelievably adorable if she does!
My mom watched Emily for a bit one day so we took Lucy out to lunch and to play at the mall.
We got into a bad habit during break. It involved putting Emmy down for her afternoon nap and then the three of us piling into our bed to relax/snooze/watch a show.
Emmy turned nine months old on New Years Eve. The photo shoot went well. ๐
This was my New Years Eve! Matty was reading on the couch and snapped this pic of me on the love seat. We relaxed, enjoyed some drinks, and went to bed at the perfectly respectable time of 10:30. #partyanimals
One of Matty’s friends came over on New Years Day to watch football and drink beer. Literally, six hours of football and beer! It took a little time, but Lucy warmed up to Mr. Dave and had a great time playing with him! Check me out in the background . . . Emmy was napping, and I remember being so happy to have someone else to entertain Lucy for a bit! Because you can’t come over and watch football at my house for six hours without entertaining my kids. It’s a rule! Oh, and Dave totally didn’t mind. He has a daughter Lucy’s age and another one on the way!
Eventually Lucy and I made our way to the bedroom to relax for a bit and let the boys have some peace and quiet . . . because Lucy never stopped talking!
Later on Dave’s wife and daughter came over to pick him up, and we tried to get a picture of the girls. Emphasis on tried.
Lucy was too cool for school on our way to open gym on Tuesday!
Things get a little more daring when daddy is around!
Lucy had woken up three times the night before and was up for good at 6:15am! That, combined with open gym, made for a nice long nap!!
Miss Roses is a fan of blackberries!
And playing Peek-a-Boo with her new toy from Aunt Donna and Uncle Jim. This is Emily’s favorite part of the toy.
Emily is so interested in Nonnie, but Lucy very rarely lets Em play with him. Yesterday, she kept setting Nonnie down in front of Emily, yelling “No!” and then moving away to a different spot for Emily to follow her. It seemed like Lucy wasn’t being very nice to her sister, but she was making Emily laugh and they were playing together, so I didn’t say anything.
Matty went back to work yesterday, so it’s business as usual around here again.
My weekend recap might be a day late because Matty and I are having a date night Sunday night! We have tickets to a Red Wings game, the girls are each going to stay with a grandma, and Matty took Monday off!
Here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend and stays warm!
XOXO
