I took a ten day vacation from blogging, and I missed it! The good news: I finished all of the projects I needed to work on. The bad news: apparently my MIL didn’t read the fine print of my last blog post and checked every morning last week for a new post! She must be too distracted by the cuteness of the pictures to read the actual words. ๐
So here’s a little look into what we’ve been up to the past week or so. Disclaimer: I always try to keep the pictures in chronological order, but something happened when I uploaded them this time and they got a little out of order . . . and I didn’t take the time to rearrange them. So if the timeline of some of this doesn’t make sense, that’s why.
I needed to take Emily’s 8 month picture, and I got Lucy in on the action.
Here’s the best I could get!
Lucy comes up with the best outfits!
This picture is from a Moms Night Out we had LAST year at the end of August. We went to see Bad Moms and then went out to dinner, and it’s when I got to tell all my friends that I was pregnant with Emily. So fun!
A few Fridays ago we all got together to see A Bad Moms Christmas (so funny!) and went out to dinner. We went to the same restaurant as last year . . . and ended up in the same booth with the same waitress! What are the chances?? When we mentioned it to her, she even remembered that I had announced my pregnancy and asked about the baby. This year was just as fun because my friend Marie (on your right) announced that she is pregnant . . . with TWINS!! The dinner and a movie will most likely remain an annual event . . .but probably not all the baby announcements!
We went over to Grandma Rita’s a few weekends ago to help her decorate for Christmas. Thank goodness for shatterproof ornaments!
All the decorating wiped Lucy out!
Here it is . . . our annual mopping picture! We REALLY need to be better.
Emily has officially discovered the dogs . . . and Sydney couldn’t be happier.
This sweet little baby loves to roll the ball!
Lucy LOVES her Advent calendar. She loves counting the numbers, opening the little door, and devouring the candy. Matty and I love that we’ve made it a rule that she has to try one bite of everything on her plate in order to get the candy. #jesuswouldbeproud
Thank you, Lowe’s, for a great photo opportunity!
Lucy enjoys riding the big girl tricycle at school.
This picture cracks me up. Just three friends getting in some work out time.
I’m really not sure how they’ll be able to top this project at Lucy’s school. The pinecone Christmas tree is my favorite so far!
I snapped this pic to send to my brother-in-law to show what was necessary for us to take a trip to the library. He asked if it was a three mile walk in the back woods to get there! haha #preparedforanything
How cute is Lucy’s new hat?!
We spent some time at the library, and Lucy asked for a picture with the tree. #sheslearning
I wanted to do an art project with the girls that required a lot of handprints and footprints. We did Lucy’s first, and then gave her some orange paint to play with to keep her busy while we worked with Emily. Honestly, we were only half paying attention to what Lucy was doing. Good thing it’s washable paint!
Lucy and I had a little play date at the mall last week, and this is as close as she’d get to Santa. He’s on the other side of the Christmas trees.
This is how we do breakfast at our house.
We got an inch or two of snow over the weekend, and Lucy couldn’t wait to get outside. She wanted to throw snowballs for the dogs and build a snowman. I don’t think that worked out too well for her, but she had fun anyway.
While Lucy was outside, Emily had a blast crawling around the house chasing Thomas the Train. He got stuck under the cabinet, and Em was so cute looking at him.
Hopefully before too long Lu will be able to wash actual dishes!
I used to be Matty’s snuggle princess. Now I’ve been replaced!
There were two carts and two parents . . . yet somehow I ended up with everyone.
Lucy LOVES riding the penny pony at Meijer. She had three pennies to ride with Matty while I waited in line with the groceries. Matt said she used all three pennies to give her gorilla a ride and then, surprisingly, didn’t throw a fit when it was time to go and she didn’t get to ride.
We went out to lunch over the weekend for the first time just the four of us. Lucy did great. Emily started out happy but then quickly got angry and fussy. She wanted to hold/eat everything on the table that she couldn’t have. She also made quite a few swipes at my salmon caesar salad and got super mad when I wouldn’t give it to her. It could have been better . . . but it also could have been way worse.
When I successfully make a delicious dinner, it needs to be documented.
And finally, you know I love a good comparison pic . . . so I’ll leave you with two. Matt’s mom sent me this one. That’s Matty when he was in Kindergarten. You can definitely tell he and LuLu are related!
And then each of my girls with the Merry Christmas doll. Look how round Lucy’s head was!!
That’s all for now! We also went to see Santa over the weekend, but I’ll save those pictures for a post later in the week. The battery in my computer is about to run out, so I’m taking that as a sign to go to bed.
Have a great week!
XOXO
