Weekend Recap

November 13, 2017 by Molly 2 Comments

Happy Monday!
Is there really such a thing?? I still get so sad on Sunday nights because I know Matty is going back to work the next day.
We had a busy weekend, which made it fly by. It started off with Emily getting to play with Lucy’s toys in peace . . . while Lucy was still sleeping!
Disclaimer: At this point in working on the post, Emily woke up crying and I had to go back in and rock her. Matty took the computer and said he’d work on the post. ha! He didn’t get very far, but the captions in italics are written by him, NOT me!
Lucy didn’t understand Grover’s shock over the paternity test results. #scandalonsesamestreet #babygroverdady

Ems says, “Momu, this fish tank is awesome…and I just crapped my pants, sorry mommy.”

This naughty nut is thinking:
a) Lets go find you some clothes, baby.
b) Being a mommy is easy, momu.
c) I just crapped my pants too, sorry mommy.

(I must interject here because what is actually happening is super cute. We decided to go to the Novi Pet Expo on Sunday morning. Lu was in her room for awhile and came out like this. She said she was bringing her baby, her Doc check up kit in case the animals were sick, and her Kindle for the animals to watch during their check up. It’s these sweet sweet moments that I need to think about when she’s screaming on the floor because I won’t let her wash her hands for the sixth time in ten minutes.)

This crazy lady gave us a cup full of dirt to take home. #hereyouthrowthisaway

(This was our first stop at the pet expo . . . an insurance vendor with a dirt table. Go figure. Anyhoo, at one point Lucy accidentally flung her shovel and got dirt all over the lady. I felt badly at first, but that quickly went away once she told Lucy she got to take the dirt cup and seeds home. I’ll just hold on to this as we walk around . . . along with my stroller, my two kids, everyone’s coats, the diaper bag, sippy cups, and snacks.)

Lucy loved petting all the bunnies!

But she loved petting this doggie more. We stopped right around here to give Em a bottle and talk to some people, and Lucy crouched there the entire time petting this dog. It was so cute!

I got a kick out of this doggie kissing booth. Lucy opted for a pet instead of a kiss. I thought they should have had a giant Irish Wolfhound there instead of this little lady. That’s just me, though. Also, I thought to myself that my SIL Carla will find this absolutely horrifying . . . am I right, Carla??

Emily Roses did such a great job! She sat in the stroller the entire time and took it all in.

However, this doggie went in for a kiss and Emily was NOT happy about it!
This pic is blurry, but the look on Lu’s face is pretty much what we get lately.

I heard Lucy saying, “zebra” over and over. She’s not wrong! haha #spraypainteddog

We came home for lunch, and then Emily went down for a nap and I went to the grocery. Lucy and Matty had rest time while I was gone, and this is where she wanted to sit!

They weren’t interacting, but for about 3 minutes Lucy wasn’t yelling at her or stealing toys either. #progress

And then Emmy had the sweetest little playtime with Nonnie. She was squealing and kissing him, and it was so cute.

Sunday night.

You may have noticed that I don’t have any pictures from Saturday. We had a Christmas photo shoot scheduled for late morning . . . outside . . . and there were record low temperatures! The location was about half an hour away from our house. About fifteen minutes into the trip there, it became very obvious that Emmy was filling her diaper in the worst way. Once we arrived, I laid Emmy in the back of the car to change her, and there was poop everywhere! Thankfully, she was wearing a onesie underneath her outfit that took the brunt of the explosion. It was freezing, and we were pressed for time, so I wiped her up as best I could and we went on with the shoot. Very laid back of me, I know.
The rest of Saturday we just hung out at home, played, relaxed, and got pizza for dinner. The Heinbuchs came over right after we put the girls to bed, and I stayed up until MIDNIGHT! Can you believe it?!
We have a fairly busy week ahead of us. Lucy has her 2.5 year check Thursday, and I can’t wait to pick her doctor’s brain about what on earth is going on with her lately!
Have a great week!
XOXO

Of course! I was so bummed that Emmy Roses didn't have anything pet related to wear. If it hadn't been 9:30 on a Sunday morning, I probably would have raced over to Carters to get her a pair of doggie pants too! #girlmom

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
