It’s still been a challenging week, but I’m back and ready to share some of the cuteness I’ve captured. These tantrums are so frustrating because one second Lu is sweet as can be, and the next she’s rolling around on the floor screaming . . . and then she goes back to being super sweet. My friend Bridget called them “transitional tantrums” because they tend to occur when we are trying to transition Lu from one activity/place to the next. That being said, they could also be called “I want Daniel Tiger, not football” tantrums, “I don’t want this pb&j, I want grilled cheese” tantrums, and “I don’t want Emily to touch anything that’s mine” tantrums. ugh!
On to the cuteness!
Check out those teeth!
Not surprisingly, Lucy was great at pounding the chicken breasts for dinner last week.
Is she not the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen??
The reason why my slippers don’t stay tied up anymore.
Every once in awhile I’ll buy myself Lucy some mini bagels and cream cheese for breakfast, and she definitely enjoys it!
Remember how I said Lucy screamed for like 20 minutes straight at our play date last week? Once I finally got her calmed down, Emmy enjoyed rolling around on the floor in the church lobby.
Wiener dog leggings for the win!
No one napped last Friday afternoon, so I loaded the girls up in the stroller for a cool walk hoping that they would fall asleep.
Thank you, Emmy Roses!!
And then Saturday happened.
It had been a loooong time since Matty and I had the night off, so each grandma took a girl for the night!. By 11:30am we had dropped them both off and headed to The Oak for lunch . . .
. . . which was not the healthiest, but was super delicious!
After lunch we came home and got to work crossing some things off our to do lists. I have a cookie order for 400 cookies the day after Thanksgiving, so I’m slowly making a few batches here and there and freezing them.
Matty put away the patio furniture for the year, while apparently living out his very own Mary Poppins fantasy.
I have this strange need to listen to music super loud whenever I’m in the car without the girls. I’m NEVER at home without the girls, so I took advantage and cranked some tunes while I was baking and cleaning. This old school Taylor Swift song was on my playlist, and I really enjoy it. Am I the only one that thinks her newest song is just the WORST?? Ugh, such a bummer!
I finished up a craft project with some of my free time. Lucy’s foot at 5 months on the left, and Emmy’s foot at 7 months on the right. #bestillmyheart
My Chatbooks are front and center. Lucy loves to grab one and take it to the couch to flip through pictures and ask questions.
We did about 2.5 hours worth of chores Saturday afternoon. Just as we decided it was time to relax and read/nap for a bit before heading out to dinner, it started thundering and raining! It was perfect. We relaxed for a bit and then met the Crupis for the most delicious Mexican food at Barrio.
Meanwhile, little Lucy Belle went to bed without any problems while sleeping at Grandma Ri’s for the first time.
The next day is when the tantrums started, and not even this car nap could help.
Nor did the extra 20 minutes she snoozed on me after she woke up in the garage.
She did rally long enough to play princess dress up with Dadoozle, though.
Lucy enjoyed chopping up her fruit while I chopped up veggies for dinner.
Grandma Ri watched Emily while Lucy and I . . . and her baby doll and stroller . . . went to the mall.
I let her hold it just long enough to snap the pic. No, m’am, you are not old enough for this!
Yes, we are already sporting Christmas jammies around here!
Another day, another mall. This time Em was with us, and Lucy played nicely with this ant while I fed Emmy her bottle.
Apparently my shoulder wasn’t cutting it anymore. She upgraded.
Playdoh is so fun . . . but so messy!
And finally, I picked these gems up at Hobby Lobby last week . . . and how could I NOT?! This makes my girl mama, cookie baking heart so happy!
We have a busy weekend ahead of us, starting with family pictures Saturday morning (hence, all the mall trips for wardrobe necessities). They are forecasting Saturday morning to be record breaking lows. Did I mention our pictures were outside?? It’s only a 15 minute mini-session. Hopefully we can capture one or two shots where we aren’t shivering!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
Emily is just the cutest baby! I love that pic of her giving kisses in the mirror. And I can't wait for the family Christmas pic!!
