Hi, friends!
We had a busy weekend doing errands and preparing for Halloween.
We started Saturday with an early morning trip to Holiday Market. The colder weather means we can bring out Lucy’s old owl hat for Emmy, and we are so happy about it! #whooosacutebaby
Looking so darn cute at the grocery is exhausting!
While Emily napped and Matty cut the grass, Lucy and I prepared some Halloween treats for her teachers and cousins. Believe it or not, we each only ate two pieces of candy. Lucy picked a mini Hershey bar first. I opened it for her and then went in to the bedroom to tell Matty something and we both came right back. Matty asked if I had given her some candy yet and if I had already wiped her up. I was only gone for 30 seconds and there was not a shred of evidence that the Hershey bar had ever existed! ๐
Lucy let Emmy Roses borrow her princess crown for a few seconds on Sunday morning.
My mom’s birthday is the day after Halloween, so we got all the grandkiddos together on Sunday to celebrate her birthday and show off their costumes.
A ladybug and her Godfather!
It was Oma’s birthday, but somehow Lucy ended up eating most of her cream puff. #betterhersthanmine
After everyone else had left, Matty helped my parents hang a bunch of pictures on their freshly painted walls.
We got home around 4:00, and it totally felt like it should have been bedtime! But, alas, we had three hours to go and we filled them pretending to go on a hayride . . .
. . . and taking everyone for a lap around the park after dinner.
I tried to zip Emily up in one of Matt’s old jackets, but it didn’t quite fit. I’m sure I’ll be wearing her a lot in the winter, so I think my best bet is to head to Salvation Army and grab a big jacket that will zip up around both of us. I’m sure it’ll look super fashionable!
Surprisingly, Lucy asked to hold Emily before bedtime. We had just gotten home from our walk, so Ems was sporting some crazy hat hair and rosy cheeks.
As I type this, Matty is living his best life while watching the Lions game. Apparently, it’s such a big deal that the recliner from our basement made its way upstairs. Sorry, couch, you’ve been demoted for the night!
We have a Halloween play date on Monday where we will be attempting to get 11 kiddos age two and under into costumes and pose for a picture. #hahahaha #illkeepyouposted #dontholdyourbreath
Lucy has school on Tuesday morning and will wear her costume to school and then again for trick-or-treating in the evening. And then you can bet your bottom dollar that all things Halloween will packed away on Wednesday morning. I’m so ready to start switching things out for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Have a spooktacular week!
XOXO
