So many pictures, so little time! We’ve been very busy since my last post, and I have the pictures to prove it.
Thursday morning started off with a walk to the playground, and Lucy dressed for the occasion. #queenoftheplayground
Emmy got in on the fun, too! Doesn’t Lucy take great pictures?? JK . . . my mom was there.
Lucy wanted to wear her duck costume from last year during rest time on Thursday. Is there anything more quacktastic than a resting duck? Maybe a napping one.
While my little ducky watched some Daniel Tiger, I joined her for a cuddle and a little dozing. I had to rest my eyes because my right one was recovering from a traumatic experience. I put in new contacts on Tuesday and, for some reason, I wasn’t able to get the right one out of my eye Tuesday night. I figured I’d just sleep in it and take it out Wednesday night. I was wrong. No matter what I did on Wednesday night, I could NOT get the right lens out! I was freaking out a bit, and my eye was killing me from digging around in there and trying so hard. I called my eye doc first thing Thursday morning, and she referred me to an eye specialist who had to numb my eye and it took two people to get it out! They said it had completely suctioned itself to my eyeball. My right eye hurt something terrible all day Thursday, but actually felt quite good by the time I woke up on Friday.
Matty was off on Friday and helped Lucy give her baby a bottle in the morning.
I took the girls to my parents’ house for a few hours to give Matty some free time. #wifeoftheyear
Gordie joined us and was so sweet with Emily!
He wanted to hold her and give her kisses. I wish Lucy loved her little sister as much as Gordie does!
Playtime at Oma’s is exhausting!
Saturday was a beautiful day. After a trip to the grocery in the morning, we decided to go check out the scarecrows in the park in downtown Plymouth. Lucy liked the pink one.
Lucy had brought Pink Snoopy with her to visit the scarecrows, and we were excited to find a display that had a regular Snoopy on it! We tried to get a picture, but Lu wasn’t feeling it.
We ate lunch outside, and Emily fell asleep as soon as we sat down. #gooddaughter
Lucy did a great job eating soup, bread, crackers, and fruit.
She did so well that we decided to treat her to some ice cream at Kilwin’s after lunch. She chose “the brown one” (aka, Chocolate Fudge Brownie) and devoured it!
Emily was awake and happy even though she didn’t get any ice cream.
No big deal, though, because she just ate her stroller instead.
While Lucy “rested” and watched Daniel Tiger, we kept Matty company while he replaced the shades on the windows in our room.
We were at Ikea bright and early Sunday morning, and Lucy had a good time exploring the kids’ area.
While Matty was cutting the grass and Emily Roses was napping, I decided to start putting together a table we bought. As you can see, Lucy and her people were very helpful.
One big flaw of our house is that there isn’t really room for a table in the kitchen. We have a dining room, but it’s hard to prep meals and run back and forth between rooms with the girls. So we picked up this little table and chairs set from Ikea, and it’ll do for now. We ate dinner there tonight for the first time, and it worked out really well.
Lucy has been enjoying her apples “not cut up” lately.
My sweet Emily Roses!
We went for a walk after dinner, and Lucy had to rock her baby to sleep in the chair before we could go inside.
Emily and I waited somewhat patiently.
I saw this on Instagram over the weekend, and it made me LOL.
It was a busy, yet tiring, weekend. I wish that Matty could be home for three days in a row every weekend!
Emily’s six month check up is Monday morning, and we can’t wait to get her stats. When we were making our list of questions, Matty said we should ask, “Why is she so massive?” haha Our doctor hasn’t seen Em since she was two months old, so I’m sure she’s going to be quite surprised at how big she’s gotten!
Have a great week!
XOXO
