Lucy had her first field trip with her Stay and Play class yesterday. We went to the Plymouth Orchard . . . and it was 48 degrees and raining! The field trip wasn’t mandatory by any means, but we had been talking about it at home for a week, and I knew she’d be so disappointed if we didn’t go.
However, when we got there she was a little fussy and not quite in the mood for a picture with mama yet.
How cute is her new winter coat?! I ordered it from the Gap, and, thankfully, it was delivered Monday afternoon. We weren’t allowed to pet the animals at this orchard, and Lucy was a little disappointed about it.
Checking out the chickens.
There was a little bar for the chickens to swing on in their coop, and Lucy thought it was hilarious. “Chickens don’t SWING, momoozle!!” was on repeat for several minutes!
Checking out the ducks.
Lucy and her classmates loved climbing on the wet hay.
Lucy was a little nervous about the hayride at first and kept saying she wasn’t going to go. Once she saw her friends get on, though, she hopped right up with me and had a great time. It’s also worth noting that there was no hay on the hayride. It was just a flatbed truck.
I accidentally asked the girls to show me their donuts instead of their apples. Lucy’s face in the next two pictures shows how she so kindly reminded me that they were eating apples.
Lucy stared down her friends while waiting for her cider and donut.
And got cinnamon sugar all over her face.
All of her friends gobbled up their donuts and got down to play, but Lucy savored hers until the very last bite.
After donuts, we headed home and had some nice warm soup for lunch! The weather certainly could have been better, but overall is was a great time with my sweet girl!
XOXO
