Whew! What a weekend! We have been busy for a week . . . starting last weekend with our trip to Cedar Point. After our trip, Sarah, Brian, Tommy, and Baby Eleanor visited with family in Toledo before heading back up this way to Rita’s house last Wednesday.
I took the girls over to play on Thursday morning. Lucy was super excited to play with the new toys Grandma Ri bought for her house.
It turns out she didn’t want to share them with Tommy, and tried to hide with them in a corner. That face!
Emily and Eleanor hung out on the floor for a bit.
We walked the kiddos over to the tot lot, and Lu and Tommy had a good time sliding, climbing . . .
. . . and exploring every inch of this tree!
Despite what it looks like, Tommy is not making peeps on the tree!
Lucy woke up on Friday morning and decided she needed to get fancy for breakfast.
Matty took Friday off, and the Brennans and Grandma Ri were coming over to spend the day so we ran to Holiday Market right after breakfast. The ladies at the deli could not stop fawning over the girls! And, yes, I know I have two “paid” stickers on my leg. #thankyoulucy
It rained a bit in the morning, but we got outside to play for awhile after lunch.
Uncle Brian had some fun on the trampoline.
Lucy decided she’d rather color and do stickers with Aunt Sarah instead of nap. I did not support her choice . . . but she didn’t care.
Uncle Brian prepared steak kabobs, rice pilaf, and fresh corn for dinner.
Emmy Roses showed off her adorable smile.
And Tommy took an amazing nap. #goodboy
Saturday morning we headed to Aunt Judie’s to visit and have lunch. Matt’s cousin Mark pulled up on this trike right as we pulled in, and Matty and Lu both thought it was pretty cool.
But only one of them got to take it for a ride.
Lucy settled for sitting on it.
Aunt Judie and Emily!
We had a delicious Mexican lunch, which Lucy and I enjoyed on our picnic blanket.
Aunt Judie entertained the kiddos with an Ernie puppet that she’s had since Matty and Sarah were little.
After lunch everyone headed back to our house again, and all the kiddos took great naps. We enjoyed delicious Buddy’s Pizza for dinner, and then got a little crazy on the trampoline.
The many faces of Lucy as she drinks water from her Dadu’s cup.
Double babies! Is Emmy huge or what?!
My parents joined us for dinner, and I forgot to have them take a group picture of all of us . . . so we settled on a selfie.
After a whirlwind week, we were looking forward to a relaxing day on Sunday. Lucy loves to look at my nail polish, and she said something to the effect of “I love you so much mommy. You paint my nails pink?” haha How could I resist?
Look at those adorably chubby hands! Unfortunately, the nail polish came off at bedtime. She kept picking at it and agreed with me when I said maybe she was too little to have her nails done. We agreed we’d try again when she was three!
Doesn’t everyone go grass surfing on Sundays?
If I’m this tired after our weekend, I can’t imagine how Sarah and Brian must feel. They were away from home for twelve days and had to pack/unpack at multiple locations throughout their trip. That is no easy task with two little kiddos!
Matty has several work functions during the evenings this week. I’ll be giving the girls baths and putting them to bed on my own for the first time on Tuesday. I usually ask a grandma to come over and help on golf night or any other time Matty isn’t home, but I feel like I need to just try it myself once so I know I can do it. Wish me luck!
Have a great week!
XOXO
