Well, we’ve wrapped up our final weekend as a family of three. It’s getting weirder and weirder to think about! Lucy really gave us a run for our money on Sunday. She didn’t nap and then alternated between playing nicely and doing everything possible to get in trouble. So when I finally got the chance to sit down and relax for a bit after she went to bed, this little quote I saw on Facebook made me feel a bit better.
Thursday is our day for open gymnastics, and Oma, Carla, and Gordie came with us this week!
Her little toes were a few inches off the ground, and she was holding on!
Nailed the landing!
Friday was a beautiful day so we met up with Greta and her mom for a park playdate.
Dressing them in the same colors was a total coincidence!
Greta gives the sweetest little hugs and kisses, and sometimes Lucy just isn’t feeling it.
After an outfit change, Lucy caught up on her baby news while trying to use the potty before nap.
After nap we were back outside for the entire afternoon and evening.
All the fresh air and activity was too much for Sydney on Friday night!
It was also super tiring for Lucy. She was in bed asleep by 8:00 Friday night and slept until 9:30 Saturday morning! She woke up super happy and ready for a fun day with mama and daddy.
We tried out the Northville library and, honestly, weren’t very impressed with it. We stayed for just a little bit and then headed out to lunch. It was a rainy day, so Lucy wore her new bunny rain boots. Aren’t they the cutest?!
We went to a diner called Rebecca’s of Northville. We hadn’t been before, but it had gotten lots of recommendations on Facebook as a great place to take kiddos. It did not disappoint. They have a train that travels around the top of the entire restaurant, and Lucy could have watched it all day!
We got her a PB&J with some curly fries as an added treat. The fries came with Ranch, and Lucy devoured them . . . and then continued to dip her sandwich in Ranch and eat it. Totally grossed us out, but she was eating happily so we went with it.
And for a special treat, we ordered a Sanders Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae for dessert. Oh. My. Goodness. At first Lucy almost seemed afraid of it! haha
It was soooo delicious. Matty said he felt guilty after eating it. As a 38 weeks pregnant mama, that feeling wasn’t even close to being on my radar!
Lucy had some important phone calls to make on the way home.
Lucy made sure that Sydney was well fed on Sunday morning!
We took her to toddler time at Sky Zone on Sunday, but she wasn’t super into it this time. She was more interested in walking around, sitting at the video games, and eating a snack!
I put Lucy down for a nap and then left to run an errand and go to the grocery. I got this picture from Matty a little bit later. Turns out napping didn’t go so well.
We got Lucy a Bitty Baby and a new doll stroller as a Big Sister gift. We decided to give it to her this weekend so that we could have a few days to enjoy it with her before all the craziness started.
She immediately fed the baby . . .
. . . and then snuggled her up!
Matty brought in the stroller, and Lucy couldn’t wait to plop that baby down and take her for a ride!
She put the extra diaper, bottles, and outfit in the bottom basket and was on her way.
Holding her baby while watching Minnie and drinking some milk. I’ve asked Lucy three or four times what she wants to name her baby, and every single time she’s said, “Fishy!” I’ll give it another day or two and see if it sticks!
And now Lucy is sleeping peacefully, and we are hunkered down in bed. One of us is blogging, and one of us is re-watching season two of Fargo. Both of us are soaking up what little bit of nightly relaxation time we have left. Our days are numbered. This is happening on Friday, ready or not. I think we are ready though!
We have a pretty standard week ahead of us . . . other than the whole having a baby thing! 😉
Have a great week!
XOXO
