Life has been pretty low key lately. Lucy seems to be feeling better, but her sleep is definitely not back to normal. She’s not waking up as much through the night, but she’s also not going down easily at night like she used to. I know it’s just a phase, but I’m ready for it to be over!
Matty made this little collage, and it’s been a big hit. Lu takes her music very seriously.
I’m not sure why she’s so happy in this picture. It certainly wasn’t because of the homemade blueberry muffin on her tray, because she didn’t eat any of it.
We have a booster seat for Lucy in our dining room, but we eat in the kitchen 99.9% of the time. Except this week. Out of the blue, Lucy has been asking to sit in her seat in the dining room rather than her high chair.
Sydney enjoys the fact that Lucy is much lower to her mouth to the ground.
And because I apparently only remembered to take pictures during meal times, here’s Lucy eating her favorite Chicken Lemon Rice Soup. Don’t let that spoon fool you, she ate the entire bowl with her hand.
Lucy used her learning tower to help me make energy bites the other night. When I saw this picture Matty took, all I could see was that baby bump! This was about as big as I got with Lucy, so I’m not quite sure how (or where!) the rest of this pregnancy is going to go. Oh, and while we’re talking about this pregnancy, we put on our Christmas cards that Emily Rose is coming in April 2017. However, the doctor scheduled the C-section for us at my check up this week, and it turns out she’s coming on March 31, 2017. #oops
Stirring up the dough. She enjoyed eating the dough while we were making it, but wanted nothing to do with the energy bites the next morning. I swear, I cannot win with this little lady lately!
Daddy/Daughter time after dinner.
The other night we thought Lucy was finally down for the night, so I started painting my nails. We were wrong, and my nails were wet, so Matty went in to rock her for a bit. I enjoy stalking them on the monitor when that happens. It’s a little hard to see, but Lu is snuggled up on his shoulder, and it’s so cute.
In addition to taking a long time to fall asleep at night, Lucy’s been waking up 45 minutes to an hour earlier than usual. Here she is at 6:30am while Matty and I try to get ready for the day.
Yesterday morning we had a play date at Tiny Town with Gordie and Aunt Carla. The kiddos had a great time!
Lucy has an Advent calendar from her Grandpa Gary and Karen that has been a big hit each night after dinner. She says, “Ho, Ho” when she wants the candy. Most nights it works as a great incentive to get her to eat her dinner.
That’s all, folks. Grandma Ri is visiting for a few days, we have a play date at Sky Zone on Friday morning, and then Lu is spending the night at Oma and Papa’s house Friday night! Is it because we have a big night out planned?
Nope.
We are going to order pizza and watch a movie on Friday and then on Saturday our plan is to . . . wait for it . . .
clean out and organize the basement! When the Kissels party, we party hard.
Have a great weekend and stay warm!
XOXO
