Life lately has been pretty good around here. Dare I say Lucy seems to be over her cranky phase, and our days have been much more enjoyable.
Monday was pretty chilly and rainy and, believe it or not, we didn’t have anything planned, so we stayed home most of the day and did a little art project. This was our first attempt at using the awesome kitchen tower that Matty made for Lucy. It’s not totally finished yet, but when it is you can bet I’ll blog about it. Anyways, Lucy loved standing at the counter and dipping her hand in paint. She kept signing for more.
The finished product is now adorning our refrigerator. She would have thumb printed that tree all day long if I had let her! Also, thank you to my friend Lisa who has helped me to see that toddlers and paint aren’t as scary a combination as I thought.
We had put Lucy’s tunnel away for a few months but brought it back out this week. She’s having a ball. I should have just taken a few of her toys away a few months ago and then wrapped them up for her for Christmas.
Avocado and ravioli never tasted so good!
Lucy helped me make a zucchini bake on Monday night, and we had such a good time cooking together. Not pictured is the mess on the floor from every time she took the whisk out of the bowl!
It turns out zucchini bake wasn’t her thing, so she painted herself with yogurt instead.
Three quarters of my Christmas shopping arrived in one large shipment this week. I LOL’d when I opened the door and saw all of this on our porch.
We took advantage of the beautiful weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. Snack time in the stroller is the best.
Basking in the sunlight and watching Daniel Tiger. Can I please just be Lucy for a day or two?
We had a play date with lots of friends at Funtastic yesterday. These kiddos were wild and crazy. Some of us mamas took a few seconds to reminisce about when we used to actually be able to talk to one another during play dates!
This is Lucy’s sign for hungry.
So she and some of her friends shared a bag of Veggie Straws. And then about half an hour later all the kiddos shared two more bags of veggie straws.
Lucy finished her snack and got right back to climbing.
Lucy wasn’t super interested in posing for pictures, but Greta sure was!
Lucy was having so much fun playing with Oma while I tutored yesterday that she didn’t even give me a second look when I got home. Apparently the Magnadoodle and her bibs were much more interesting.
Today is a very busy day for me. Lucy has her 18 month check up in the morning, and then after that I’ll be baking alllllll day long. My SIL and I bake cookies every year for Hood’s Hardware in Wyandotte. They always have a big Yankee Candle sale in December and order cookies to have on hand for the shoppers. Here’s a glimpse of what I made last year. This year they increased the order, so I’m baking 300 Chocolate Chip cookies and 100 Snickerdoodles.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. We have our first Christmas party on Sunday evening. ‘Tis the season!
XOXO
