This past Sunday, Matty’s work hosted a family day at Wiard’s Orchard. I had been there once maybe eight years ago on a field trip, so I was excited to go back. It’s really changed a lot!
Everyone in attendance got a tshirt to wear the day of the picnic. We all thought they were a little wacky looking, and the morning of the picnic I got texts from two other wives asking if I was going to wear the shirt. I sent some proof that I was already dressed and ready to go. Super flattering look for a pregnant lady!
It was a beautiful day, especially after a week of nothing but rain. If I’m being honest, though, I would have liked it to be a little cooler. Apple orchards should require sweat shirts and fall jackets, right?
Lucy enjoyed the ponies . . .
. . . meeting a new doggie . . .
. . . and the wide open spaces to run around. I don’t have a picture of it because my hands were too messy from the warm gooey apple cinnamon donut I was gobbling up, but Lucy also enjoyed her first warm apple orchard donut!
Lots of strollers making their way around the orchard.
The mums around the orchard were so pretty!
This group of Matty’s coworkers and their wives have become great friends. Three of us had little girls within a few weeks of one another, and Marie had Amelia last March. Will we keep the girl streak alive at Hitachi with baby #2? Only time will tell!
My mouth was full of food . . . as usual!
Lunch buddies!
We toured the orchards on top of a fire engine. It was bumpy, but pretty cool.
I thought for sure the loud siren and the bumps would scare Lucy, but she and Caroline really enjoyed the ride! I bet the front view of this photo would have been super cute.
How adorable are these three girlies??
They met each other for the first time when they were all about one month old.
And had a Christmas gathering when they were about 7 months old. #chubbylucy
I can’t believe how big they’re getting!
It was a really great day at the orchard. If you’ve never been to Wiard’s, it’s worth checking out. It was a great place for the babies to run around, but it’s definitely geared toward kiddos who are a little bit older. There is so much to do and see! Thank you to Hitachi for providing such a family friendly day!
XOXO
