Well, I finished my class, and I have a few weeks off until my next (and last!) one starts, so that’s opened up a bit of time for some extra blog posts. This one has been months in the making. As I try new products and like them, I’ve been keeping a list of things I’d like to share with you. If I’m taking the time to share it, you know I love it. And, as always, most of the items can be purchased from Amazon because that’s where I do 95% of my shopping these days.
I’ve been using Clinique products since high school. I love me some Clinique Bonus Time! Seriously, though, I’ve tried cheaper moisturizers and I’ve also tried more expensive moisturizers, and I ALWAYS come back to this one. I’ll never stray again. If you’re reading this over the weekend, then you can get the nice little duo featured above for a great deal at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale . . . but it ends Sunday! Otherwise, there’s always the regular size bottle from Amazon.
Just as I’m loyal to my Clinique products, I’m also loyal to Bath and Body Works/White Barn candles. I used to like Yankee Candles, but you just can’t beat the coupons and sales at BBW. This is our favorite “off season” scent. Currently, I’m over the coconuts and pineapples but it’s a little too early to break out the apple and pumpkin candles, so this is what we’re burning right now. It makes the whole house smell fresh and minty. Don’t ever pay full price for a candle from BBW, though! Wait until they go on sale 2 for $22!
Those of you who know me well know that I have struggled with my naturally curly hair for years. A few years ago I felt like I finally figured out how to control it . . . and then I had Lucy and my hair fell out like crazy and grew back even curlier and coarser than it was before. I love that baby, but she ruined my hair! In an attempt to keep my hair healthy, I’m trying to blow dry it less, thus my hunt for the perfect curl tamer. My salon has a very generous two week trial period with their products. They encourage you to use it for a week or two and then exchange it for something else if you aren’t happy. Well, after doing that for five (5?!) products, I finally found one that I love and seems to work!
Now, my hair will never be completely smooth and frizz-free. I’ve learned to accept that. But this curling spray really helps to define the curls and keep them (somewhat) in check without making my hair sticky or crunchy. I just spray it on my wet hair after I brush it out in the mornings, and it works like a charm. If you know of a salon that sells Pureology products and allows returns, I highly recommend you try that first. Otherwise, there’s good old Amazon!
I randomly included this nail polish in a post last week as well. Even though the name says purple, I think it’s the perfect shade of bright pink. I’ve seen it at Target and Meijer, but it’s $2 cheaper on Amazon . . . and you don’t have to leave your house!
This product is a little different, but I really like it. A blogger I follow swears by it. She says she showers at night, lathers this on her hair, puts it in a pony, and wakes up with perfectly smooth beachy waves. Did it work for me? Nope. I used it for about a week and I wasn’t really noticing any difference . . . until I quit using it. While it doesn’t give me perfect waves, it does make my hair feel very soft! As soon as I quit using it, I noticed my hair started to feel coarse again. I shower at night and put this on, then wet down my hair in the morning and spray in the Pureology Curl Complete. That’s my hair care regimen for the past few months.
This was a recommendation from my SIL, Carla, and she was spot on! I’m pretty loyal to Venus razors. Similar to Clinique, I’ve tried several different types of razors but always come back to the Venus. This little gem has built in shave gel bars so you don’t have to use additional shaving cream if you don’t want to. I dislike stubble immensely, so I do a quick shave every morning, and I find this razor to be super convenient. It’s also great for traveling because I don’t have to pack shaving cream as well.
And finally, you might be wondering what all of my products are sitting on in the picture above. It’s my Sweet Dreams Satin Pillowcase, and I LOVE it! If you only try one thing from this list, this should be it. I read that satin pillowcases are better for you hair and skin, plus they don’t give you those crazy sleep lines on your face. None of that even matters, though. From the second I put my head on my pillow that first night, I was smitten. It just feels so luxurious and smooth.
I get up before Matty in the mornings, and I noticed that he started moving over and using my pillow so I bought him a couple as well. I have the lavender and the grape. Matty has the light gray and navy blue. Do they match our sheets? Nope. Do I care? Nope. Spend the $8.50. Trust me!
That’s all for now. I hope one or two of these items makes you as happy as they’ve made me. We’re at our cottage for the weekend, so this’ll be my only post til later next week.
Oh, and for those of you who are wondering what’s on Lucy’s Must Have list . . .
. . . floppy hats and heart sunglasses! You can’t go wrong!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
