Life lately has been a little busy for me. Out of the past seven days, Matty has been home to help out with Lucy for two of them. It just so happens that he’s had back to back to back to back work outings, golf, BBQs, Tigers games . . . very important work stuff! ๐ It’s all coming to an end this weekend, though, and he has Friday off to spend all day with us so I’m going to be one happy girl!
We started off the week with a trip to Costco. Lucy and I both let out squeals over these bears. Cousin Tommy is coming to town this weekend for his Baptism, and I thought a 53″ bear would make the perfect gift . . . except then I remembered they’d have to transport it back to Illinois. I made the responsible choice and didn’t get one for Lucy either. However, I’ve regretted it every day because she’s been super into stacking up all of her stuffies and then jumping on them. How much would she love to bounce on a giant bear?!
She was focused on her snack. I was focused on showing Aunt Carla how cute Lucy looks in the shirt they picked out for her on vacation.
As an adult I still get excited when I see something with my name on it, and now I get excited when I see something with Lucy’s name on it. Apparently I was so excited to take the picture that I didn’t think to grab a bag and put it in my cart. Don’t they sound amazing?? #anothercostcoregret
Lucy kept herself busy while I put our purchases away.
And then decided she should help put her mac n cheese in the proper drawer.
Didn’t she do a good job??
Later on that day we went for a walk through the park. It was sunny when we left, but all of a sudden it started pouring! We had to run the last half of the lap home . . . with both dogs! We all got pretty wet, but Lucy didn’t seem to mind.
Monday evening we met up with Greta and Lisa at Funtastic. (Monday was day 5 of being on my own with Lucy. Can you tell I tried to pack the day with things to do??)
There was a helium balloon that was stuck up in the ceiling, and Lucy found it to be very distracting.
Lucy did a great job climbing up here on her own. She was sitting nicely, and I was chatting with Lisa while she photographed us . . .
And then all of a sudden Lucy took a dive, and Lisa happened to catch my mother of the year moment. Grab that baby, set her down, and keep on chatting! A special thanks to Lisa who knows how important photos are to me and always volunteers to take some!
How cute are Lisa and Greta coming down the slide?! We didn’t get a picture of it, but at the end of the play date Lucy and Greta kissed each other goodbye, and our hearts melted!
Snack time! As Aunt Sarah put it, “One for Lucy . . . two for the dingos. One for Lucy . . . “
Lately, when Lucy wakes up from a nap, she stands and points to whichever toy she’d like to play with in her crib for a few minutes. The other day it was cupcakes. I was thinking to myself how wonderful it would be if I could wake up in the morning, point to cupcakes from my bed, and have them brought to me!
While Matty was playing whirly ball and BBQing at his boss’s house Wednesday evening, I decided I needed a little pick me up. It was dinner as usual for Lucy, but I picked up some sushi for a little treat.
Finally, I was looking through some old pics the other day and came across this gem. That bow! That face! Those sweet cheeks! I just can’t handle it. She was 8 months old.
We are looking forward to some family time this weekend with Sarah, Brian, and Cousin Tommy. He’s being baptized on Saturday, and Matty and I get to be his Godparents!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
