Sunday Swim Lessons!

April 3, 2016 by Molly 2 Comments

Today Lucy had her very first swim lesson! I have been wanting to do this for awhile, but was a bit hesitant because it isn’t cheap. Ideally, we would have taken her to our city pool because lessons are cheaper, but I’ve had several people say that the water is way too cold for babies . . .which means that the water is way too cold for this mama! I finally decided on Aqua Tots over Goldfish because Aqua Tots gave us a free trial lesson. So smart . . . because now they have our business!
Here we are waiting for our lesson to begin. The set up is great, and Matty was able to sit and watch the entire lesson . . . and take lots of pictures!
She’s happy about how cute she looks in her swim suit!

The water and the air inside the pool area is a balmy 92 degrees! Felt great! It probably felt like a giant bath to Lucy. Hopefully she didn’t do in the pool what she usually does in her bath! 😉 It was just Lucy and me and one other baby boy named Mason and his dad.

Chasing after her blue star.

The instructor’s doll was beyond creepy. It had no eyeballs, but there was a yellow glow around the eye sockets. If Lucy doesn’t have nightmares about it, I probably will.

Getting ready to go under!

Under the water!! So they have us blow in their little faces right before putting them under the water, and that causes them to take a breath in. Lucy did it three times and did really well!

Yay!!

Lucy was very relaxed while she floated underneath the “bridge” on her back.

Here she is in the car two minutes after leaving the pool!

Overall, it was a great experience so we signed up for one month of classes. Between the lake at the cottage and my parents’ pool, Lucy will be around water a lot and we really want her to be comfortable. She’ll be diving off the boat before we know it!
Have a great week!
XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
