Hey everybody, just thought I’d pop in for a little bonus post this week because it appears as though I’ve found the perfect pair of shoes for spring. If you have no interest in reading my thoughts on shopping and shoes, then feel free to check back in at a later date. No offense taken . . . mostly because I won’t know you stopped reading.
Last week I decided to head to the mall to return some things Matty and I had purchased online. We do most of our shopping online now, but every once in awhile I like to reacquaint myself with my pre-baby happy place. You know how when you go to the mall to look for something specifically you usually never have any luck, but if you go to just wander around you find 237 things you want to buy? Well the latter happened to me the other day.
I knew it was going to be a good trip because we got the best parking space! Even though I got there right at 10:00 it was already pretty crowded (spring break!), but as luck would have it there was a lovely spot available right out front!
This was my view from the car.
So I was already on a bit of a high as we walked in and headed directly to the shoe department to return our purchases and then leave. We had to walk by the shoe department to get out into the mall, and these little gems spoke to me. As did their buddies on the shelf below them.
Note: these are screen shots from the Nordstrom website. I didn’t pull out my phone and start photographing. I have to maintain some sense of dignity. (Ha!) But honestly, I would have photographed them if I had thought of it. I was just way too focused on finding someone to get me these shoes to try on!
Bottom Shelf (I promise that these exist and were on my feet, but I cannot find them on the Nordstrom website anywhere!)
It wasn’t like “oh, shoes, let me look and see if I like anything.” It was “oh my goodness, look at those two pairs of shoes, I love them both!!” So (just for fun), I tried on both pairs. It was love at first sight when I saw Matty for the first time, and that’s worked out pretty well, so I figured I should follow that same logic for these shoes! So there I was, hemming and hawing over which pair (if any) I really needed to buy. Which one did I love more? Which pair couldn’t I live without? It was a love triangle rivaling that of Bachelor Ben! That’s when Kelsey the sales girl decided to pipe up and say, “Your baby is so beautiful. She looks just like you!” Well played, Kelsey. Well played. I’ll take your flattery . . . and the TOMS Avalons!
While both pairs were super comfortable, in the end the Avalons seemed a bit more practical and versatile than the pineapples. They’ll always have a place in my heart, though!
So, if you’re looking for a super comfortable, cute, fairly stylish pair of everyday shoes for spring, I highly recommend these TOMS. I wore them all day running errands on Friday, and my feet were very comfy. Plus, for every pair of TOMS sold, the company donates a pair of shoes to children in need. It’s a win-win situation. Matty’s always saying we should do more to help those in need. Roger that, I’ll buy more TOMS!
Not to get ahead of myself, but summer will be here before we know it. . . maybe. I’ve heard great things about the TOMS flip flops, but don’t own a pair yet. However, this pair is currently on my radar.
And don’t even get me started about the baby TOMS and baby Sperry shoes that I tried on Lucy!! She was pretty wiggly so I was only able to snap this quick pick of her adorable Sperry-fied foot. Don’t worry, I didn’t spend $32 on a pair of shoes for my 10 month old. Even I have to draw the line somewhere . . . for now!
And for those of you who stuck around in the hopes of seeing more than just Lucy’s foot, here’s what she looked like after our shopping trip. I suspect a few of my readers look the same way after this post!
XOXO
Love the shoes!!!
Omg love the flip flops too!
