This weekend was busy and productive. We really could have used that hour that we lost on Sunday! Friday and Saturday we had beautiful weather, but Sunday it rained ALL DAY LONG. Pre-Lucy that would have meant sleeping in, movies, and reading/napping on the couch. Today, however, it meant crossing off items on our to-do list and starting some spring cleaning. About halfway through Lucy’s morning nap we thought it’d be a good idea to empty out the guest room and turn it into a play room. As you’ll see later in the pictures, it worked out quite nicely!
We weren’t the only ones with spring on our minds. Lucy was super interested in this Minnie Mouse watering can during a trip to Lowe’s. When she was distracted by the shiny shower heads I snuck it back on the shelf, though. I don’t think she’ll be ready to help me water flowers this year.
A little ball play in her mini ball pit. I love how I snapped this pic right when the pink ball was in the air.
It was sunny but chilly on Friday evening, and this was Lucy’s outfit for our walk. Matt and I love this hat on her. In fact, we love it so much that I just ordered it in a bigger size so that she can have it again next year!
All of this got turned into Lucy food. Thank you, Kroger, for having some great deals on produce!
The avocado was a hit!
It was warmer and sunny for our walk on Saturday so we pulled out a sun hat. I have the CUTEST sun hat with strawberries on it for her, but I’m saving it for her Easter basket.
Saturday evening we went out to dinner with friends. That’s right . . . we got a babysitter (thanks, mom and dad!), put on actual grown up clothes, and left the house without Lucy. We went to El Asador in Detroit, and it was DELICIOUS!! It’s a small restaurant, and it’s BYOB which was pretty fun. It was busy and everyone waiting just stood around and drank the beer they brought. Ready for some food pictures?
We started off with some fresh guacamole made right at our table.
And then some creamy tortilla soup. So good!
I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, and they were excellent.
I wish I taken a picture before we removed everything, but our guest room used to be jam packed with a double bed, two file cabinets, a dresser, and a small desk. Those items are now scattered around our house. . . mostly in the basement. It’s hard to tell in pictures, but Lucy’s bedroom and our guest room are quite small. Her room was already crowded with the crib, changing table, and bookshelf so we thought having a play room would be useful.
Matty plopped her down in the middle once it was emptied and vacuumed. We thought maybe she’d crawl around and explore . . . but nope!
Eventually we’ll get some storage cubes and shelves, but for now this is what we ended up with. She loves to look out the window!
Of course, she loves the little book area.
And it didn’t take her long to discover the vent cover and realize she can pull it out! #notouch
I also did a little decorating for Easter. I’ve been struggling with how to decorate Lucy’s room with St. Patrick’s Day and Easter being so close together. So her mirror has St. Patrick’s Day stickers on it, and I hung this Easter banner above her changing table. I wish I could say that I made it myself, because it probably wouldn’t be too difficult, but I got it at the Target Dollar Spot!
That’s about it. This busy weekend is followed by a busy week. Lucy goes to the eye doctor tomorrow for her Ptosis issue. Hopefully she doesn’t freak out when they examine her!
The play room project led to a list of a many other things I’d like to get done around the house. Closets to clean out, drawers to organize, things to purge. Why does one project always lead to five others?!
But most importantly, Monday night is the finale of The Bachelor! If you need me between 8 and 10pm, don’t bother. I’ll be on the couch, under my slanket, with a yet-to-be-determined special snack, hoping that Ben loves Lauren as much as I do!
Have a great week!
XOXO
