Before I get into our weekend recap, I want to mention a few changes to the blog. I am going to delete the tab at the top that says “Recipes.” Originally, I had wanted to have a page for recipes and a page for books. This way I could post recommendations of good meals I’ve made or books I’ver read. However, I’m still new to the blogging world, and it’s proving to be more difficult than I thought to link up separate pages to the home page. So from now on, there will be a few more posts each week but some of them may be recipes or books rather than pictures of sweet Lucy Belle.
Ok, on to the weekend. It was pretty standard, nothing too exciting except . . . wait for it . . .
OUR FLOORS GOT MOPPED!!!!!
I usually like to post our pictures in chronological order, and this happened on Sunday afternoon, but I’m just so excited! The mopping of the floors gets top billing! And you know who mopped them?! . . .
. . . this guy!! BEST HUSBAND EVER!
Ok, rewind to Friday now. Lucy enjoyed a delicious lunch of squash and blueberries.
Some Friday evening couch time.
On Saturday we had our friends Ryan and Stephanie over for dinner. Matty helped by chopping up all the veggies (the recipe will be posted later this week).
I fed myself lunch while Matty fed Lucy lunch. I had gotten warm while doing some cleaning so I took off my sweater. And Matt’s sunglasses were on the counter so I put them on. Looks like I’m enjoying a nice summer lunch!
We went for a long walk to enjoy the mild weather and sunshine.
Matty and Lucy had a nice little photo shoot while we waited for Ryan and Stephanie to arrive.
When Ryan and Stephanie arrived, they went right in for the kill and wanted to hold Lucy. Ryan took her, and Lucy was NOT having it! The cries turned to screams fairly quickly. We thought Lucy might do better if she had the home field advantage so we headed to the nursery to play her new favorite game, “Don’t Take My Scarf.” She laughs and giggles like crazy for this game. So Matt and I put the scarves on our heads first to demonstrate, and Lucy loved it. So Stephanie went next . . .
and Lucy laughed and played right along!
And then Ryan took a turn. Lucy looked at him, and just when I thought she was going to laugh and grab the scarf . . .
. . . she lost her cool!
“Scarf or no scarf, someone get this guy out of my room!!” (Don’t worry, Mom, I snapped the pictures and then cuddled her up.)
Lucy had a special visitor at her door on Sunday evening.
And finally, while I was getting Lucy’s bath stuff ready she and Matty had an epic selfie session.
My new favorite picture of Lucy!!
That’s all folks!
Hope you had a great weekend!
