Reading is my most favorite past time. There’s nothing better than sitting down with a good book. My reading time has decreased significantly since the birth of a certain sweet little baby, but I’m trying to set aside time to read at least a little bit. Believe it or not, I actually read three books during the month of January! Go me!
Just like recipes, I love when people recommend a good book to me so I thought I’d do a monthly review of the books I read. Now, let it be known that I read for relaxation and enjoyment and that is it. I don’t care to learn anything or challenge my mind. Again, I swim in the shallow pool when it comes to my book choices. Chick lit was written for this girl! If you are looking for deep, insightful books to read then go read someone else’s book reviews! 😉
So here we go, my January Book Review . . . better late than never!
1. The Royal We
This story is supposed to be loosely based on the courtship of William and Kate. When I went to the library to pick it up and saw that it was 400 pages, I thought I’d never get through it. Wrong! I couldn’t put it down!
This is actually the third book in the Under Suspicion series. Technically you don’t need to read them in order, but I would definitely recommend it. They are all excellent. The first book is called I’ve Got You Under My Skin and the second one is The Cinderella Murder. Mary Higgins Clark knows how to write a good mystery!
I found this randomly at the library and am so glad I did! It was a delight from start to finish. There’s a sequel called I Heart Paris, and I just got it from the library to read this month.
Three books . . . not too shabby! My goal for February is to at least match that number, or maybe read four!
Here’s Lucy reading her book. Her goal for the month is to hold a book right side up! 😉
