We’ve made it through another week! This week we were especially excited for Friday because now Matty will be home for 16 days!! He only took a week off when Lucy was born, so this is the longest we’ve ever had together as a family of three. Daddy and Lucy are going to get to know each other really well . . . and mama’s going to go get her nails done!!
I don’t have a ton of pictures from this week (compared to other weeks, anyway) because I read an article about spending “intentional time” with your kiddos and how it’s important to focus on them and not the devices around you. I’m the first to admit that I’m guilty of this. I’ll set Lu up with some toys in her room and sit there with her while looking stuff up on the laptop or my phone. So this week I really tried to take a good chunk of time each day to actually PLAY with her and interact in meaningful ways. It was great, but who are we kidding . . . I still have to stop and take pictures! And when I get an ad for Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale in my email I have to go and mark some things to keep my eye on. Baby steps, right? ๐
This little baby woke up happy as a clam on Monday morning. Most mornings I’ll put her in the exersaucer after her bottle so that I can get myself a little breakfast and get her oatmeal ready. She seems to enjoy it.
Speaking of intentional time . . . I had this great idea of putting red and green paint on a piece of paper and then sticking it inside a Ziploc bag so Lucy could move it around with her hands. I was going to have her make two of them and send one to Oma and Papa and the other to Grandma Rita. Well, grandparents if you are reading this, you’ll notice you never got anything in the mail! Lucy was way more interested in eating the bag than moving the paint around. And when she was finished it looked like someone had massacred the Grinch. #mamatried
When Daddy sends a text asking how his ladies are doing, this is what he gets back. ๐
They’re baaaaaaack! The raspberries have made a major comeback this week.
One morning this week I had quite a headache. Once I got Lucy down for her nap, I decided to take a little time to sit and relax instead of do chores. This doesn’t happy very often lately, so I thought I’d document it. I’m going to be so sad when I have to put my Christmas blanket away!
Seven months! How is that possible?! We just brought her home from the hospital like yesterday.
Lucy has been pretty interested in the slats on her crib this week.
Oh my gosh, on Wednesday Lucy and I went to Barnes and Noble to finish up some shopping, and she brought her “A” game! She was so happy, smiley, squealing loudly, and smiling at everyone. It was fantastic. I stayed longer than necessary just because I was enjoying watching her ham it up for everyone.
Baby prison buys me about 10 minutes each day.
I had fun putting together a cute little treat for Lucy’s friends at Cuddle and Bounce on Thursday. And then only one other baby showed up with Lucy!! Leslie, are you reading this?! Where were you and Catherine??
Lucy wore this outfit to Cuddle and Bounce on Thursday. Cutest little Santa elf ever!!
She LOVED these bells and may have cried (twice) when we tried to put them away. Little does she know that she’ll be finding one in her stocking on Christmas morning! Oh, and the headband is ridiculous, I know!
Playtime with Daddy and the dingos.
“I Love Cookies with Mommy.” This shirt was made for us! Lucy wore her comfy clothes to go get her flu shot today. AND SHE DIDN’T CRY! I was shocked. She screams bloody murder if you get too aggressive during Peek-a-Boo, but apparently needles are no big deal now. Oh, and she weighed in at 19lbs 5oz!
This is how we feel when Lucy is asleep for the night and two weeks of Christmas vacation has begun! Both of us are super excited . . . however, one of us started it off with a nap and one of us didn’t. I’ll let you decide.
No cheat day this weekend because I’m saving up to have three days in a row for Christmas! So no pizza, but we did treat ourselves to some sushi. Lucy joined us from her crib ๐
That’s about it. Now it’s time to start vacation by watching the newest Mission Impossible. Or, in my case, the first 5 minutes of Mission Impossible (according to Matt). Oh well, it wouldn’t be a Friday night if I didn’t fall asleep on the couch. Have a great weekend!
Oh we missed the cutest treat bags ever! This was our MOPS week. Catherine was sad to miss her Christmas music class. Boo!
