What a great weekend! About a month ago I finally realized I needed to change my mindset about weekends, and I’ve been enjoying them much more ever since. Weekends no longer mean sleeping in, relaxing, and leisurely doing what needs to be done. That season of life is over for a while. Weekend schedules are pretty much the same as weekday schedules except Matty is around to help out, which is awesome! Now that I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll still be getting up between 6:00 and 6:30 and that reading a book and taking a nap are on hold for the next few years, weekends seem to be going smoother for me.
This post not only recaps our weekend, but also includes a few little gems from Thursday as well.
Here’s a picture of the monitor during Lucy’s morning nap on Thursday. This position was a first. She’s always flat on her back, but somehow managed to scoot herself around and roll on her side. When I saw this on the monitor I had to go in and check on her since I couldn’t see her face. All was well and she looked super adorable.
At Cuddle and Bounce, Miss Karen brought out the “bath tubs” and the babies took a bath . . . complete with rubber duckies, loofahs, and bubbles! It was quite possibly the cutest thing we’ve done there yet. Lucy ate it up . . .literally. Every time a bubble came by her face, she opened her mouth nice and wide!
Lucy’s doctor recommended we start using a sippy cup with her during meal time, and she also said Lucy could start eating Puffs. We tried both this weekend. She’s still figuring out the sippy cup, and didn’t seem too thrilled with the puffs. This is fine with me because I was convinced she was going to choke. Maybe we’ll try them again next month.
This is Matt’s arm . . . not mine!
Saturday morning smiles with Daddy!
A little playtime with cupcakes. She went right for the chocolate one . . . like mother, like daughter!
I could tell she was getting ready for a nap so I went to warm up her bottle. When I came back less than two minutes later, this is what I found!
The snow came Saturday, and it caught us off guard. We’ve been very busy the past few weekends, so we had planned on putting away all our outdoor things this weekend. Mother Nature had other plans. Poor concrete turtle!
The mums were pretty much done for the season anyway.
The view from the park (this was actually Sunday morning).
Relaxing for a bit after our outdoor photo shoot. Love that face!
I plan to wrap this box up like a gift, put Lucy in it in front of our tree, and take some pictures. Had to be sure she fit ๐
Saturday evening I was playing on the floor with Lucy, and this was my view. Not only was I admiring my new Christmas throw (thank you, Target!), but my handsome hubby was making a delicious Hungarian Goulash for dinner.
Remember a few weeks ago when I posted this picture of Lucy in her first Burt’s Bees Baby outfit?
I absolutely loved it, and more outfits were half off on Zulily, so I ordered a few. They arrived on Saturday!
Since we decorated for Christmas this weekend, Lucy needed something to get in the holiday spirit as well. We picked up this Santa Duck at Target. Quack Quack Quack! Ho Ho Ho!
On Sunday, we ran some errands and stopped in at Dicks and Trader Joe’s. Lucy isn’t ready for shoes yet, but our budget is in trouble when she is! How cute are these little Nikes?!
Keeping a close eye on the cashier at Trader Joe’s.
I can’t eat these cookies because they are full of dairy and soy, but I did steal the tiniest little nibble of one of Matt’s, and they are DELICIOUS! My next cheat day will be on Thanksgiving, and you better believe I’ll be starting my morning off with one (or three) of these!
We made some peas for Lucy, and I couldn’t believe how vibrant the color was!
She loved them and gobbled them all up!
That’s about it. It’s time to sit back and enjoy the Christmas decorations we put up. I’ll probably do a post with decoration pictures after Thanksgiving. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
