So Much Thankfulness!

November 26, 2015 by Molly Leave a Comment

Last Thanksgiving, I was still a few weeks away from announcing my pregnancy and about 7 months away from actually believing I was having a baby. It’s not a huge secret that we struggled for quite a few years to have a baby, so we kind of spent my entire pregnancy in disbelief. At first I told myself it would feel real if we made it to 12 weeks this time. Then we made it, and I still couldn’t believe it so I figured things would start feeling different at the gender ultrasound. When we found out we were having a girl it was a whole other state of disbelief (What?! I’m still pregnant AND it’s a girl . . . this can’t be happening!) This pretty much continued until Friday, May 15th at 3:30am when my water broke three weeks early . . . and things got real quite quickly!

Fast forward to this Thanksgiving, and I’m up at 6:00am to pump milk for my baby girl as I watch her snooze on the baby monitor. To say we have a little more to be thankful for this year would be an understatement! At first, I started going through and collecting pictures for this post of everyone who has been part of Lucy’s life . . . but there are SO MANY and I need to finish this before that sweet baby girl wakes up! So THANK YOU to everyone . . . we love you all!

I will give a special shout out to these two people, though: Dr. Jones and Nurse Kay. There’s nothing fun about the IVF process . . . nothing. I can’t even think of a single thing. That being said, we couldn’t have had two more supportive people to help us through it. Matty and I will still sometimes laugh at the crazy conversations we had with Kay (ok, so maybe there’s one good thing about IVF!) These two people made our Lucy Belle possible, and for that we will ALWAYS be thankful!

Have a great Turkey Day, everyone! I’ll include pictures with a post about our long weekend. I’m so THANKFUL to have Matty home with us for four days. Now it’s time to finish up pumping before this little turkey wakes up!
Happy Thanksgiving, from our little family to yours!!
Oh, and Happy Birthday to this guy! Snort’s 12 years old today and still going (somewhat) strong!

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
