Friday Fall Favorites

October 23, 2015 by Molly Leave a Comment

As I was reading about the world of blogging, it was suggested several times that I introduce myself to my readers. Considering most of you are friends and family, it’s a pretty safe bet that we’ve already met and you know quite a bit about me. I did, however, come across this cute idea for sharing my favorite things about fall. So, because I love a good alliterative title for a blog post, I decided to give it a try. Note: I did not create these categories on my own; I’m simply following  a template that’s floating around in blog land.

Favorite Fall Candle Scent: “Leaves” from Bath and Body Works. I am a loyal BBW candle shopper (2 for $22!!), and our house smells like Leaves for three months straight in the fall. In fact, I recently threw a Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin into the rotation. What was I thinking?! It smells good, but I miss Leaves already. Good thing I have one ready and waiting!

Best Fall Fragrance: I don’t change my perfume scent based on seasons, but I do change my lotion. I love Wild Madagascar Vanilla from BBW. I’ve tried apple and pumpkin scented lotions, but they aren’t for me.

Fall Beverage of Choice: Um . . . water, I guess! I’m not a coffee or tea drinker so I can’t jump on the Pumpkin Spice Latte bandwagon. I suppose I do enjoy the occasional apple cider.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food: Anything but the turkey! . . .it just gets in the way on my plate. I love homemade stuffing and green bean casserole. Last year there was some sort of miscommunication and we didn’t have GBC at Thanksgiving! It caused quite the ruckus . . . remember, mom? 🙂

Favorite Type of Pie: None! I can pass on pie any day. Why can’t we have Thanksgiving cake? If I had to choose, I guess I could stomach an apple pie . . . or maybe a few bites of pumpkin. My Grandma Matzo used to make a peanut butter pie. It involved lots of peanut butter, cream cheese, and Sanders hot fudge . . .now that’s my kind of pie!

Favorite Fall Sweater: Haven’t worn too many yet, but I did just pick up this one at Target. I love how long it is. Matty, if you are reading this, please ignore the DSW bag on the bed!

Football Games or Leaf Piles?: Shopping

Favorite Fall TV Show: Not watching too many shows these days, Lucy sees to that! Matty and I do enjoy Blackish, though. And we’ve started watching the first season of Fargo, which I’m really enjoying but wish I could stay awake for more than one episode at a time. I record Scandal and watch it in 10 minute increments throughout the day during feedings.

Combat boots or Uggs: Uggs . . . I know it makes me look like I’m trying to be 19 again, but they are just so WARM!

Is Pumpkin Spice worth the hype?: Yep . . . when it allows me to have a cute decoration in my house! Thanks, Hobby Lobby!

Halloween, Yay or Nay?: Yay! I’m extremely pro-holiday. Let kiddos (and kiddos-at-heart) have some fun and be silly.

Which is better, fall mornings or evenings?: Mornings! I love a good cool, crisp, and sunny morning in the fall.

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
